German car manufacturer Smart has a reputation for producing some of the smallest, cutest things to ever run on four wheels. Its offerings, like the EQ Fortwo, make city hatches like the Hyundai Eon and Toyota Wigo look pretty sizeable in comparison.
Just by looking at one of its products, the last person you’d expect to drive off in a Smart would be a seven-foot-tall retired NBA center like Shaquille O’Neal. He simply wouldn’t be able to fit inside, after all, right?
Footage of the former NBA Most Valuable Player and four-time champion managing to squeeze into a Smart car has surfaced online. More impressively, the vehicle was able to drive off carrying the 325-pound Shaq with nary an issue. Check out the video above.
The Smart EQ Fortwo packs a 17.6kWh Lithium-ion battery with a 93km range. Top speed? It’s pegged at 130kph and can do 0-100kph in about 11 seconds—good luck matching those figures with Shaq behind the wheel though.
This is even more impressive than Shaq zipping around town onboard his Polaris Slingshot:
For scale, here’s the Big Diesel chilling inside the custom-made Ford Sprinter delivered to him back in 2018:
Hopefully, the footage making its rounds online doesn’t void the Smart car’s warranty. What’s the smallest vehicle you’ve ever driven?
