A reasonably priced luxury car.

It may take some rewiring of your sensibilities to pair the words “P6.19 million peso luxury sports car'' with “great value” but a great deal is a great deal — even in the premium segment.

So while this cars beautiful lines may convince you into thinking this is a prohibitively expensive piece of automotive art, the 2022 Jaguar F-Type is proof that a luxury car can indeed be great value for money.

The F-Type is the direct descendant of the legendary E-Type, a classic from the 60s that none other than Enzo Ferrari declared as “the most beautiful car ever made.” Its modern reincarnation is the current flagship of the British marque’s 80 years of design and performance heritage.

Slim pixel LED headlights with J blade DRLs flank an enlarged grille that sits at the business end of the assertive coupe’s piercingly long clamshell bonnet. Equally slender taillights finish off the swoop downwards to its muscular but petite rear — the F-Type definitely lives up to the classic long hood and short deck silhouette exemplified by its predecessor.

Jaguars racing DNA pumps through its 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 motor that makes 300PS and 400Nm of torque. An 8-speed automatic gearbox puts that power to the ground via the rear wheels as all proper sport coupes should. 100kmh arrives in 5.7 seconds, on the way to a maximum velocity of 250kmh.

Luxury materials adorn the interior where the two-seater’s design heritage meets modern convenience.

The driver-focused technology includes a customizable high-definition 12.3-inch Interactive Driver Display that replaces traditional gauges. To add to the aural soundtrack that emanates from the F-Type’s exhaust, a technologically advanced 10 Touch Pro infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is present and paired with a premium 380-watt Meridian Sound System.

The F-Type also has a full array of must-have safety features such as smart airbags, Blind Spot and Lane Keep Assist, a rear camera, and park assist — as every modern luxury car should, sports car or not.

So in performance and looks (and most definitely technology) the F-Type lives up to its award-winning roots but did you know the E-Type was also considered an affordable car when it first debuted?

That’s right, one of the purest sports cars in history also happened to represent value for money as well — and its worthy successor that is available for P6.19 million is here to give you the same combination of beautiful design, luxury, performance, and at a reasonable price.
