Some dude jamming to Fleetwood Mac, sipping on cranberry juice while riding his longboard to work—who would’ve thought that this is exactly what the world needs right now.
Well, alright, maybe not exactly what we need right now. A vaccine for COVID-19 would be neat, but you get our point, right? For one fleeting (pun not intended) moment in the middle of a pandemic, all eyes were on something wholesome for once. We’ll take whatever we can get.
Anyway, the gist of the story here is that Nathan Apodaca, also known as 420doggface208, was having car trouble and couldn’t get to work. To make light of a frustrating situation, he pulled out his longboard and decided to ride it to work, sipping on cranberry juice and lip-syncing Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 hit ‘Dreams’ while jovially gliding down the road. He uploaded the video on TikTok, and the rest is viral history.
Ocean Spray, the brand featured prominently on the bottle of Apodaca’s drink, saw the viral video and heard about his car problems. The company decided to thank him for the exposure by gifting him a brand-new Nissan Frontier pickup with a bed loaded with cranberry juice. Nice.
“What a day! So happy to team up with @oceansprayinc and give @doggface208 a much-deserved set of wheels,” Ron Sayer Nissan, the dealership that supplied Apodaca’s ride, said on Instagram. “We can not think of a more down to earth guy. Now turn up some music and enjoy some juice.”
The vehicle was delivered to Apodaca’s residence a day ago, and he seemed pretty stoked about his new ride. Watch:
During times like these, it’s important to remember to sit back every now and then and enjoy the little things. Hopefully, Apodaca’s new pickup doesn’t mean he’ll be setting his longboard aside for good.
