In case you’ve been living under a rock these first few weeks of the year, the 28th season of Top Gear is back in full swing—and we kind of mean that last part literally. Sort of.
That’s because Chris Harris, Paddy McGuinness, and Freddie Flintoff have kicked off Series 28 by bungee-jumping a roadster off the edge of the Luzzone dam in Switzerland. How (or why) in the world did they do that? Well, with the help of some technicians, stunt coordinators, and bungee experts, of course.
The idea of throwing a Rover down a 540-foot dam sounds insane in and of itself, but with someone getting behind the wheel of the car for the stunt? We’re trying to imagine ourselves in Flintoff’s shoes, and we’re already getting dizzy just thinking about it.
As with any wild Top Gear gimmick, this required one massive production just to pull off, and we have some behind-the-scenes footage here for you to enjoy—check it out above. Behind all the craziness, you get intense preparations, a bucketload of banter, and a whole lot of fun.
