The Internet never runs out of new ways to amuse us. Yesterday, we posted on our Facebook page the above photo sent by Ted Tanedo. The image features a die-cast, scale-model Porsche Carrera GT placed in the foreground against a Petron backdrop. At first glance, the toy car looks real, an optical illusion that has earned the photo thousands of likes.
But we didn\'t realize just how interesting the photograph really was until Thea Chua sent us another image showing another die-cast toy car parked on her palm and positioned in such a way that it looked like it was being trailed by the above-mentioned Carrera GT. \"Someone\'s tailgating,\" she said.
Which prompted a guy named Jojihiro Oya to submit a third photo showing a Lamborghini Aventador toy car now leading the small convoy. \"Let\'s play a game,\" he invited.
That was when an avalanche of photo submissions besieged our Facebook inbox. We got so many photos from followers of our Facebook page, who requested that we include their images in the virtual convoy. Unfortunately, we couldn\'t post every single photo sent to us. We simply handpicked the best ones based on clarity, the angle of the shot, and the choice of car.
Below are those that made it to the \"convoy.\" The other photos came from Adrian Antonio Desierto, Jay Nadela, Manuel Nierra, EJ Osias, Janice Baltazar, Vonn Ryan Motomal, Ron Ian Flores, Karolina Piechowska and Gab Señires.
Good thing Flores sent a photo featuring a Ford Police Interceptor, which gave us an excuse to end the game with the following caption: \"Time to break up the convoy, guys. The cops are here. Good night.\"
We have to sleep, after all.
UPDATE: So, even after we had declared that the photo with the Ford Police Interceptor was to be the last one in this virtual convoy, people just kept sending their photos. Well, we just had to give in at some point. We\'ll just add below the new ones that we\'re posting, with the names of the senders also affixed in the roll call above.
