Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) shook the midsize SUV segment last year with the launch of the refreshed Fortuner. Not surprising, actually, because it is arguably one of the most popular nameplates in the lineup of the country’s top automotive brand, after all.
And while it’s only a mid-cycle refresh, the changes made to the Fortuner were quite substantial, especially with the top-spec LTD variant pictured here. It’s got a striking new face, a lot of new tech inside the cabin, an improved ride, and a more potent 201hp, 500Nm 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine under the hood.
However, this range-topping variant also had one other thing that had a lot of people talking: a hefty price tag. This one stickers for P2,404,000, which is almost the price tag of a secondhand Land Cruiser Prado. Also, that’s about P800,000 more than the base variant and around P400,000 more than the Q variant. Worth noting is that the latter also comes with a lot of the toys found in this LTD variant.
