When you think of a station wagon, you might be inclined to think of something out of National Lampoon's Vacation. A boring family hauler, in other words. Sure, they're practical for storing things and bringing them around, but there's no reason to get excited about them, right?

Well, feast your eyes on this. It's the Volvo V90 Cross Country, which was recently launched in the Philippines. Aside from the usual wagon capabilities, it's got a rugged side that'll get your heart pumping. As one Volvo Philippines executive puts it, it's capable in any jungle whether urban or wild. It's equipped with four-wheel drive and comes with a smorgasbord of Volvo safety goodies.

Powering the V90 Cross Country is a 2.0-liter turbodiesel mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It puts out a very respectable 235hp and 480Nm. This, folks, is not your usual boring old wagon. To learn more about what else makes it an exciting vehicle, click play on the video above.
