It's a good time to be in the market for a new pickup, not least because of the waves that Nissan is making in this segment now. The Japanese automaker is back with its latest launch, the Nissan Navara PRO-4X, which is billed as being both tough and smart—brains and brawn—because of its intelligent features and sheer power.
To showcase the new Navara's abilities, Nissan set up a test drive that put the pickup through its paces. An area right by Ayala Malls Manila Bay was set up for nine test drive courses: City Potholes, Flooded Street, Narrow Path, Dark Tunnel, Extreme Off-Road, Light Off-Road, Steep Hill, Side Hill, and Tight Parking. The new Navara, as you can guess, handled them with ease. Watch this:
Nissan Philippines’ President Atsushi Najima, who was present at the event, spoke about how customers will be pleased by Nissan’s newest offering. "Customers can go anywhere with confidence, any trail across the country," he said.
Based on what we've seen here, we can all agree that the president is right on the money. For starters, it comes with many best-in-class technologies, including an array of Nissan Intelligent Mobility features and safety systems. Here's a quick recap:
- The Intelligent Forward Collision Warning monitors the second vehicle ahead, as well as the vehicle directly in front, to reduce the risk of multi-car accidents.
- The Intelligent Emergency Braking activates the brakes to avoid collisions, reducing the stress of driving in traffic or on busy streets.
- The Intelligent Around View Monitor uses four cameras to help drivers notice people and cars surrounding and approaching the vehicle, making it easier to parallel park or to position the vehicle when hitching to a trailer.
- An off-road monitor, which checks surrounding obstacles at low speeds when in four-wheel drive mode.
Other safety features such as Driver Attention Alert, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and High Beam Assist enable drivers to do more and see more. These safety features make the vehicle an ideal travel partner, prepared to adjust to any situation on the road while still offering optimal room, comfort, and ease of work.
For those who are eyeing the new Navara, Nissan is offering a five-year vehicle warranty to all variants under this model, making it the only one of its kind in the segment. “This extended warranty lets our customers enjoy the new Navara even better throughout its product lifespan. It gives our customers even more confidence and pride in owning the company’s latest innovative product,” Najima added.
