Do you love collecting Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars but are frustrated with the limited selection we get here? Well, rejoice because there\'s one store that specializes in these little cars from Mattel: Big Ram\'s Hobby.
What started as a little store that sold imported items like colognes, perfumes and shirts eventually became a Hot Wheels depot. Big Ram\'s Hobby opened its first store in BF Homes in Parañaque in 1998. It was followed by a second store in Festival Mall, Alabang. A third branch was opened in Shoppesville in Greenhills Shopping Center. Sometime a year and a half ago, Big Ram\'s Hobby put up a satellite branch in Ayala Center Cebu.
The store\'s Hot Wheels Ferrari selection is imposing. In fact, red easily dominates the pegs and shelves--from models that are no longer released to the latest ones, and from the basic model lineup to the 1:18 Elite. Big Ram\'s Hobby also has quite a lot of Volkswagens to choose from.
The specialty shop gets the latest cars ahead of other toy stores. Its toys may be slightly more expensive--ranging from P120 to P200--but you have a better chance of getting what you want. Some toy cars aren\'t even sold locally, such as the Walmart exclusives. Toys \'R\' Us and Toy Kingdom only get a handful of sought-after models, and not all branches get them.
Big Ram\'s Hobby carries various retro Hot Wheels lineups, like The Hot Ones, Cars of the Decades and Flying Customs--cars and trucks from the \'70s, the \'80s and the \'90s that have metal chassis along with fresh paintwork. They also have the Boulevard collection, which comes with rubber tires. This collection will likewise feed that nostalgic feeling.
The store also has Hot Wheels Treasure Hunt, Hot Wheels limited edition collectibles for the adult collector, Matchbox Superfast, and Matchbox 60th Anniversary editions. Its Disney Pixar Cars selection is very impressive as well. There are even Kmart and Walmart exclusives.
Let\'s just say collectors of die-cast toy cars won\'t be disappointed.
