Fascinated by what’s out there beyond the earth’s atmosphere? If so, then this new offering from Casio might interest you. The Japanese watchmaker has just released this simple but very cool timepiece under its G-Shock line, and it pays tribute to decades of space exploration.
The DWS5600NASA20 is a homage to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and is fashioned in the classic, thin DWS5600 style. It’s all white from case to strap, and features a small digital screen for the time. On the watchface is the NASA logo in bright red coloring. A unique touch here is the moon engraving on the case back.
In typical G-Shock fashion, the watch is water-resistant to 200 meters, is shock-resistant, and features an electroluminescent backlight afterglow. It also has a 1/100sec stopwatch, and a flash and buzzer for alarms and hourly reminders. Casio claims accuracy within 15sec, and the battery is expected to last for two years. The watch comes in a special case designed to resemble a lunar spacecraft.
Curious? The watch currently retails for $130 (around P6,600).
