Hype is beginning to build up for next year’s The Batman, yes? First, there was the all-new trailer for the film released just a few days ago. And now, toy companies are beginning to roll out merchandise in anticipation of the 2021 holiday season.
This toy, recently unveiled by Mattel Creations, might be our best look at the all-new Batmobile yet. It’s a Hot Wheels remote-control car and it features some impressive attention to detail.
First impression? This might be a sign that we’re in for the grittiest-looking Batmobile ever. It looks like a cross between a trophy truck and muscle car and is a lot more down-to-earth than previous iterations of the Caped Crusader’s ride.
The interior appears rather bare, too. Inside, you’ll find a Spartan environment with uncomfortable-looking seats and a no-frills dashboard. As with all things Batman, everything is blacked-out. Of course.
We’d go as far as to say it doesn’t look purpose-built for crime-fighting, but rather a ride born out of necessity. You do still get some cool superhero-like design choices, though. There’s an exposed turbine/engine out back draped in red lighting for cool effect, for example.
Planning to buy one of these for Christmas? Then be prepared to splurge a little, as each one costs $500 (just over P25,000). It’s a steep price, but this thing is pretty much guaranteed to put a smile on any Batman fan’s face come December 25. Worth it?
