Engine output north of 1,900hp, 0-100kph runs in under 3sec, and up to 200kph in 6sec. What else do you get when you shell out £2.4 million (P168 million) for the Lotus Evija?

Apart from bragging rights that you own one of the most menacing EVs in the world and Lotus’ first-ever electric hypercar, it appears you’ll also have purchasing rights to this: A driving jacket from Norton & Sons.

This is dubbed as the “world’s most exclusive driving jacket,” as it is only available to Evija customers. It was designed jointly by world-renowned Savile Row tailor Norton & Sons and Lotus Cars itself.

The garment is made from a superfine lightweight water-resistant merino wool/nylon technical textile manufactured by Loro Piana in Italy. It features Cobrax and Riri hardware, and the jacket’s overall shape mimics that of the Team Lotus pitlane gear from the 1970s. Jackets are individually hand-cut and hand-sewn so that each piece will be as unique as each Lotus Evija.

The look of the jacket’s front pocket is derived from the Evija’s ribbon-like taillights. It sports a golden number 16, harkening back to the tailor’s Savile Row address, and three underarm ventilation eyelets inspired by the Lotus Elan 1600 taillights. It also wears a unique label featuring the Norton & Sons wordmark, the Lotus roundel and ‘For the Drivers’ tagline, and an Evija silhouette penned by the hypercar’s lead exterior designer Anthony Bushell.

“When I was a kid, Lotus was the sports car everybody wanted. It was what James Bond drove and was the dominant team in Formula 1,” says Norton & Sons design director Patrick Grant. “To get the chance to explore the extraordinary Lotus racing archive, and to design a piece of clothing that takes its inspiration from such iconic 1960s and 1970s designs, was both a challenge and a thrill.”

“We wanted to work with Patrick and the Norton & Sons team to create the ultimate driving jacket for Lotus Evija owners,” adds Lotus design director Russell Carr. “I’m delighted with the result, which exemplifies everything Lotus and the Evija stand for—premium British craftsmanship and quality, exceptional performance, and a timeless design.”
