The Jaguar E-Type is known as one of the most beautiful cars ever built, and rightly so. Its timeless look and damn near faultless proportions can illicit loving feelings even from those who aren’t actually fond of cars.

In the TV show Mad Men, Don Draper tagged the E-Type as ‘Something beautiful you can truly own.’ Beyond its looks, the sports car also left a mark on the track. It won the top two spots in the 1963 12 Hours of Sebring GT 4.0 class. Car number 23, in Old English White with blue and red stripes, crossed the finished line first. It’s this car that serves as the inspiration for Bremont’s new watch.

The Jaguar MKII White chronograph is the latest addition to Bremont’s E-Type series of timepieces. Like the classic race car, it features a white dial with two black sub-dials at the three and nine o’clock positions. Another detail from the car are the red tips on the minute, second, and timer hands. The numbers, too, are inspired the from E-Type’s instruments. Also on the dial is the vintage Jaguar badge.

The watch sits at a hefty 43mm diameter and is powered by a 28-jewel automatic movement complete with a steering wheel-shaped rotor, which you can see through the clear display back. It’s topped off with a blue calf leather strap with red contrast stitching and a polished stainless-steel buckle. As a neat little detail, the watch’s crown is engraved with tire treads. In all, an elegant and vintage-looking timepiece.

How much will all this motorsport heritage and fine watchmaking cost you? A pricey £5,195 (P324k). Owning a Jaguar, even on your wrist, never comes cheap.
