Quezon City shoppers can now get their hands on a TAG Heuer watch close to home. The Swiss watchmaker has just opened its new boutique in TriNoma.
The boutique is the first in the country to feature the brand’s new store concept. Similar branches in Glorietta and Rockwell are scheduled to pop up soon.
The opening was graced by some of the Philippine Basketball Association’s (PBA) biggest stars, including veteran cager Asi Taulava. Beyond just getting publicity, the players were there to represent the league’s partnership with the watchmaker—for the last three years, TAG Heuer has served as the PBA’s official timekeeper. The good news for both organizations is that the partnership has just been renewed.
The TAG-PBA connection is made pretty clear with a photo in the store window that shows the players with the Aquaracer Calibre 5 watch. It’s the first campaign that TAG has done with local brand ambassadors. The slogan #DontCrackUnderPressure is not just a marketing catchphrase—it also represents the players’ individual stories of struggle and success. And of course, the inimitable Steve McQueen shares the window space next to the watch he made famous, the Monaco.
