As the name implies, Honda’s new motorcycle is powered by a three-cylinder engine arranged in a 75-degree V-shaped layout. Honda says this allows for a slim and compact form factor that tucks neatly into a motorcycle. It then works in tandem with an electronically controlled compressor—the first of its kind, according to Honda. This allows it to work independently of engine speed for precise boost timing and better low-end torque.

And as you might have guessed, the V3 engine measures in at 900cc. But Honda claims the E-Compressor setup lets it punch above its weight class, providing performance on par with a 1,200cc engine—all while retaining the dimensions and emissions of a smaller-displacement bike. Unfortunately, Honda didn’t provide numbers to back up that claim, so we’ll need to take its word for it.

The production model trades away the prototype’s molten lava camouflage for a black-and-silver paint scheme. Even for a naked bike, the V3R 900 E-Compressor’s body is stripped back with plenty of mechanical bits exposed. No doubt, Honda wants to show off the goods after tinkering with the powertrain for the past few years. The use of titanium on certain parts also adds extra visual flair (and probably shaves off some weight, too).

Also, check out the asymmetrical bodywork flanking the fuel tank. Honda has gone full function-over-form with these air ducts, leaving them at different sizes instead of adding extra bodywork to even out the difference. The asymmetry continues to the rear with a one-sided swingarm that makes for a striking, extra-exposed look from either side of the bike.

So, what do you think? It’s definitely an eccentric, fun-looking bike that’s bound to turn heads, but Honda will need to prove just how effective the powertrain is. It’s one thing to claim 1,200cc power from just three-fourths of the displacement. We’re looking forward to seeing the V3R 900 E-Compressor actually put that down in the real world.

Those extra horses actually are drawn from a massive 800V electric system, which effectively makes the Passport the first hybrid Trophy Truck in the tournament. On paper, Honda claims that its hybrid entry is more powerful than the other competitors equipped with naturally aspirated 9.0-liter V8 engines.

The powertrain is managed by a five-speed transmission developed by Mason Motorsports, along with an artificial intelligence power deployment system from Honda’s Formula 1 division. Two-time Baja 1000 winner Bryce Menzies will be in the driver’s seat as Honda aims to add another trophy to its shelf.

The Passport Baja Spec will run its first race at the Baja 500 in June next year. While it is the first hybrid Trophy Truck to enter the competition, it is arguably also one of the most software-forward participants.

In fact, Honda Racing has called this Passport a “software-defined vehicle,” further touting its integrated powertrain, chassis, and energy management systems. Those are all baked into one platform, which can be upgraded and configured throughout the racing season. That should give Menzies and company a tighter grasp on what this monstrous Passport can do, and how far they can push it.

Rookie Racing Garage was established by Toyota chairman Akio Toyoda (aka Morizo) with the goal of making motorsports more attractive to the general public. “Rookie Racing Garage Manila will give [the passion for cars] a home. As the first Rookie Racing Garage outside of Japan, it will welcome Filipino car enthusiasts to come together and celebrate their shared love of cars,” said Ty during his speech at the press conference.

Rookie Racing Garage Manila’s own goal is to “create a place for car fans to meet and connect beyond brand boundaries.” To this point, the 1,750sqm facility will feature a variety of facilities catering to different sides of enthusiast culture. One of the main features will be the air-conditioned workshop dedicated to car modification, tuning, and customization. This facility will be equipped with six service bays, as well as a dyno for validating power output.

Other amenities inside Rookie Racing Garage Manila will include a merchandise shop, a curry and tea cafe, racing sim rigs, a mini 4WD course, and a car showroom and display space. The outdoor parking lot (1,200 sqm) also serves as a multipurpose space suitable for activities like drifting and karting.

Chairman Ty also shared that Rookie Racing Garage Manila was initially envisioned as a Gazoo Racing location dedicated to Toyota’s performance vehicles. However, both Akio Toyoda and his son Daisuke Toyoda decided that the Rookie Racing brand would reach a wider audience without limitations of Toyota’s own operating protocols.

“It gives us the flexibility to be able to do what we’re trying to do and invite other brands, and be able to implement activities here, not limited by Toyota standards,” Ty said. He also added that Morizo’s foresight in using the Rookie Racing name opens up the facility as an automaker-agnostic space, despite it being a joint venture between Toyota Motor Philippines, Toyota Manila Bay, and Autoplus Sports.

Rookie Racing Garage Manila is set to open its doors next month on December 16, 2026. Looking ahead to 2027 and beyond, it looks forward to hosting car club events, as well as undergoing preparations for the GR86 and GR Kart one-make races.

The circular lamps just might help the Land Cruiser FJ break away from the Tamaraw comparisons it’s drawn ever since it broke cover. Of course, that’s not to say the trusty Tamaraw is a bad car—coming from a different legacy, the Land Cruiser FJ just has different expectations to live up to, including how it looks.

We might have actually seen these round headlights before (and in person, to boot). Check out the ‘Legendary Concept’ Land Cruiser FJ showcased at the 2026 Bangkok International Motor Show, which wore identical-looking units. This build leaned heavily on the Land Cruiser legacy: chrome trim, retro badges, and all. It’s nice to see something from that build offered as a genuine accessory for the production vehicle.

Just last month, Toyota made retrofit customization of these round headlamps available for Land Cruiser Prado units with the optional squarish headlights in Japan. Likewise, existing Land Cruiser FJ owners can also have their units retrofitted with the round headlights from Toyota.

Just one catch: Everything for the Land Cruiser FJ mentioned above seems exclusive to Japan. Nothing indicates that the round headlights—as factory options or retrofit—are coming to other markets, including ours. Might be a bit of a missed opportunity, given how much Filipinos love the LC. Regardless, our fingers are crossed that local customers can tick the box for round headlights sooner rather than later (or never).

We’ve already collected a good amount of info about the all-new CFMoto V4SR-RR before the launch, so let’s talk about that design first. We’ve only been getting photos of the bike with all the camo, but now we get to see it in all its glory. And it looks pretty darn good.

It looks mean. The front end is adorned by sleek headlamps and aggressive-looking wings, which we’ll talk more about later. The fairings are plastered with V4SR decals. Twin Akrapovic exhaust pipes are positioned high at the rear. It’s got proper superbike styling, and it looks fast.

Of course, it doesn’t just look fast—it is fast. As you’ve probably read before, the prototype bike was able to hit 315.82kph. That’s with its 997cc 90-degree V4 engine. CFMoto has unfortunately yet to reveal specific performance figures, but what we do know is that the V4 produces more than 210hp and has a 15,000rpm redline.

The V4SR-RR is quite loaded as standard: It sits on a fully adjustable Ohlins suspension setup, gets Brembo Hypure Sport brakes, and rides on Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V4 tires. But you can take things up a notch with the track-focused V4SR-RR Carbon Black, which adds extensive carbon-fiber bodywork, Gilles Tooling components, and a MotoGP-derived STM dry slipper clutch.

A couple of EICMA shows ago, this new platform was still under development. Basically, this bike was still an engine. The progress CFMoto has made over the past few years has been quite impressive. We’ve no word on pricing yet, but frankly, we’re already looking forward to seeing how CFMoto’s first superbike will stack up against established nameplates from legacy brands. The app was supposed to employ only 17,746 riders, but was found to have 55,575 excess motorcycle-taxi operators. This resulted in the LTFRB fining Move It P10,000 per surplus rider, adding up to P555.75 million.

The board then allowed Move It to continue its operations, but under the original rider allotment of 17,746. However, the platform affirmed its commitment to protect its riders’ livelihoods and uphold its service to users.

“Move It views rider allocation as a dynamic measure of live, on-demand supply,” the company said in an issued statement. “The gig economy is built on flexibility, with riders going online and offline throughout the day based on their own schedules. Because of this natural fluidity, maintaining continuous supply for commuters means monitoring the number of riders who are actively online and ready to accept trips at any given moment, especially during peak rush hours.”

The LTFRB has yet to decide on Move It’s reconsideration plea. With 55,575 motorcycle-taxi operators at risk, the board affirmed its commitment to their concerns as well.

In a statement posted on social media, the agency said: “The LTFRB is currently crafting measures in dealing with this sensitive issue in relation to the affected riders, while ensuring that the online boarding system of ride-hailing services is strictly complying with the government’s regulations.”

The electric scooter took center stage at the Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori (EICMA), debuting its new electrified powertrain. The NMax E packs an eAxle power unit with a belt drive propelling the rear wheel, paired with a 3.5kWh lithium-ion battery. Peak power is rated at 10hp at 3,500rpm and 33.3Nm at 500rpm.

The Yamaha NMax e has an estimated maximum range of 104km, which should be more than enough for riding in the city. It gets an on-board charger and can be plugged either into a power outlet or with a Type 2 charger. With the former, getting from zero to 100% should take 5hr30min.

As far as the design goes, it doesn’t stray too far from the ‘regular’ gasoline-powered NMax Tech Max. The NMax E retains its signature silhouette, albeit with more chiseled, sharper-looking fairings below the seat. The Yamaha badges by the stepboards also feature a bright blue to match the ‘E’ at the rear. The headlights look slightly different with the boxy lamps, while the taillights match the said look.

Curb weight is listed at 121kg without the battery, while seat height is at 770mm or 30.3 inches and ground clearance at 135mm. Apart from the instant torque it delivers, the NMax E should offer a familiar riding experience. Disc brakes are available up front and at the rear, and ABS is available. The scooter is equipped with traction control and has three selectable ride modes as well.

The NMax E boasts a new five-inch digital instrument cluster with a different layout from that of the NMax Tech Max. The head unit features smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation available.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the all-new Harley-Davidson Sprint 440. You read that number right—this is yet another new entry-level Harley. Unlike the X350, though, this one will be expressway-legal if it does arrive in the Philippines.

Let’s talk about the design later, because it’s quintessential Harley. The big story here is the powertrain—that’s a 440cc air-/oil-cooled single-cylinder engine pushing out 27hp at 6,000rpm and 38Nm at 4,000rpm. Much like its bigger siblings, this cruiser produces peak torque lower in the rev range. Harley-Davidson also claims this setup can yield up to 34km/L.

The looks, as mentioned, are as Harley as any Harley can get. This one boasts that typical cruiser look, with a long frame and a low saddle. It looks similar to the Nightster with a bit of Street Rod 750 thrown into the mix.

There’s a round headlamp up front paired with a round instrument cluster. The tank features loud accents that are more hip than retro, but they blend well with the design. The bike is mostly black, but it can also be spec’d with a gray or teal tank. The chrome bits are retained across all colorways.

The Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 sits on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels with 10-spoke patterns. The suspension setup comprises 43mm inverted front forks and rear piggyback coilovers. Front and rear disc brakes are available with ABS as standard.

Toyota has officially revealed its plans for the World Rally Championship (WRC) in 2027. After dominating the championship for the past six years, the carmaker has confirmed that it will be fielding two separate cars across two teams next season. Gazoo Racing Toyota will be campaigning with the 2027 GR Yaris Rally1, while Toyota Racing will be competing with the new GR Celica Rally1.

Details are still scarce, but the WRC has confirmed that both the new Celica and Yaris rally cars are being developed “in parallel” in Jyväskylä, Finland—the home of the Toyota Gazoo Racing-World Rally Team.

While we did get to get a glimpse of the GR Celica Rally1 via an experience with the mid-engined Yaris Prototype—we still have no idea what the new GR Celica Rally1 will be like. As we inch closer to the next WRC season, we can expect more updates then.

Frankly, some of us were a bit skeptical about the Celica’s comeback at first. We had to hear (or read) the confirmation straight from Toyota itself, not just through secondhand quotes from executives. Now, we finally have it, and we have plenty of reasons to be excited. If the GR Yaris, GR Corolla, and GR GT—or even just Toyota’s WRC success—are anything to go by, then we should be in for another hit.

At this year’s Philippine International Motor Show, MG Philippines introduced the all-new MG4 Urban EV. While the “standard” MG4 is the lower-slung, slightly sportier rear-wheel-drive hatchback, the new MG4 Urban (which is sold alongside the current MG4 lineup) offers a taller, roomier, and more practical option meant for buyers in the market for a family car. MG has gathered that customers in this segment usually look at monthly amortization, rear seat space, and whether the trunk can swallow the weekly groceries without an argument.

Competition in this segment is one of the toughest right now, with almost all brands vying for market share with every possible variant and powertrain on offer. Let’s see what MG has to offer potential buyers.

Styling

Measuring 4,395mm in length, the MG4 Urban is easily the biggest amongst its main competitors. Its aerodynamic hatchback styling features a low nose up front that leads to a smooth, flowing roofline and ends with the rear spoiler, giving it clean and balanced proportions. The local-spec models also ride on 16-inch alloys with plastic aerodynamic wheel covers designed to reduce drag.

From the front, a grille-less fascia features slim lighting signatures and angular surfacing that give it family resemblance to the other vehicles in the MG lineup. Daytime running lights are integrated with the automatic projector LED headlights, which also have a follow-me-home function. And out back, the rear light cluster features a Union Jack-inspired LED taillight that stretches across the tailgate, paying homage to the brand’s British heritage.

Overall, the shape is much taller, squarer, and upright. It’s very clear with its intent to focus on maximizing interior space rather than chasing sporty looks.

Interior

Stepping inside the MG4 Urban is a very comfortable affair, with the large doors opening almost 90 degrees. Closing the doors, however, is another matter; with the doors fully opened, it takes a full-body stretch just to reach the inner door handles. Still, the front seats are comfortable and well-bolstered, offering good support even on long journeys. The seats are manually adjustable, and finding a comfortable seating position is easy. That said, while I appreciate the simplicity of manual seat adjustment, potential buyers might be looking for power adjustment, given that some lower-priced competitors offer this as standard.

Interior quality is acceptable, especially at this price point. Shiny black plastics dominate the dashboard, door panels, and center console, but soft-touch materials are present on high-contact surfaces. With its 2,750mm wheelbase, interior room is abundant, especially at the rear. Legroom and headroom are adequate for taller passengers, and three passengers can fit comfortably for short journeys. That said, I recommend that only two passengers sit at the rear for longer trips.

Just like most cars these days, a 12.8-inch center touchscreen dominates the central dashboard, while a 7-inch instrument display sits in front of the driver. Even if most vehicle functions are controlled on the central screen, the MG4 Urban still has physical buttons for the air-conditioning and audio, so these can thankfully be adjusted without looking away from the road. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, as is the four-speaker sound system (which in my opinion needs improvement).

Boot space is measured at 480 liters, increasing to 1,364 liters with the rear 60/40 split bench seats folded down. Impressive numbers, but do take note that the rear seats don’t fold flat; some creativity will be needed to load larger, longer items. Also, a front-mounted motor unfortunately means no frunk storage.

Powertrain performance

The MG4 Urban is powered by a single electric motor that produces 148hp and 250Nm of torque for the front wheels. No big numbers here, but more than enough for typical city driving. And with instant power delivery thanks to the electric motor, the car feels peppy and light on its wheels, allowing you to have a little fun on open roads.

A 42.8kWh LFP battery powers the car, providing a claimed NEDC range of 403km. In the week I had the vehicle, I drove a total of 650km; over 80% of that was expressway driving. At the end of my test drive, the onboard computer recorded an efficiency of 12.8kW/100km—a real-world range of approximately 325km. I know I could have probably gotten more range out of a single charge if I changed my driving habits a bit, but I kept the test as real as possible; cruising was at 100kph, with occasional bursts for overtaking, and the air-conditioner was set at a constant 19 degrees.

While the battery can take up to 82kW on a DC charger, and can go from 20% to 80% in 35 minutes, the small size can be a limiting factor. A day trip to Subic with stops inside the former naval base for shopping, dining, and a photoshoot will require you to recharge at some point along your journey. Plan ahead if you want to make it back to Manila!

Ride and handling

The suspension setup does not get simpler than the MG4 Urban: MacPherson struts up front and a solid beam axle at the rear—the latter is key to creating all the space available at the rear. The suspension is also tuned for comfort, and the steering is light. The whole car feels engineered to make everyday driving easy rather than entertaining, and it is a job well done in this regard.

MG Philippines was quick to point out that the MG4 Urban weighs just 1,460kg, pretty light for a BEV of this size. The chassis is also stiffer due to a cell-to-body design that integrates the LFP battery into the monocoque, which eliminates the need for a separate magazine housing.

The light weight and stiffness are evident, and the vehicle does feel more agile and sharp for it. But given that the vehicle was light to begin with, MG could have added a little more sound insulation to the body. Driving in traffic, I could actually hear what nearby motorcycle riders were talking about with their back riders. At highway speeds, tire and wind noise can make conversations challenging, and it’s best to avoid speaking entirely when it rains and just listen to the raindrops falling on the roof.

Extra features

With a suggested retail price of P1,198,888, there is very little to expect in terms of extra features. Ironically, this simplicity is something I really liked with the MG4 Urban (maybe it’s my age). Driver assistance was limited to basic cruise control, a rear-view camera, and a speed limit reminder (which you can set yourself). These provided a peaceful driving experience devoid of annoying warning buzzers that now come with most modern cars’ driver assistance systems.

If there is one thing that really annoyed me, it was the seatbelt warning. Not only did it buzz nonstop, but it would also restrict the vehicle from moving while I was trying to properly position the car for photos in the parking lot. On the flip side, I really liked the proper one-pedal driving in the MG4 Urban, something I don’t have in my Geely EV. Not only are you able to regenerate more energy when decelerating, but you also save wear on your brake pads. In fact, during my time with the test unit, I barely used the brake pedal at all.

Verdict

The same CAMPI report I referred to in the beginning indicates that the GAC Aion UT has sold close to 600 units since May, and Geely has delivered over 700 EX2 units since June. MG has had a more challenging time for the MG4 Urban; it’s managed to find just 48 homes for the electric hatchback since its launch in June.

I cannot seem to wrap my head around this huge gap—despite its shortcomings, I think the MG4 Urban is a good car for the Filipino family looking for their first electric vehicle. But quick chats with colleagues in the car industry have brought forward the issue of its price. Doing research and making some inquiries at different dealers, I discovered that after all the promos and discounts are applied, the gap to its competitors can reach as much as 20% (around P200,000). That is a big difference upfront, especially for rivals below the P1 million barrier.

The MG4 Urban may be able to justify its higher suggested retail price because of its size, but its lower-priced competitors, despite being smaller, can still comfortably carry a family of four and have decent space in the truck. To add to that, most (if not all) BEVs in this segment have added features and around the same range which erases any size advantage the MG4 Urban may have.

New car pricing and cost build ups are a very complicated matter, and are best left to seasoned accountants. But given the large gap in sales, it may be worthwhile for MG Philippines to try something different and bring the price of the MG4 Urban closer to the competition. Now whether that works or not remains to be seen, but one would never know without trying.

Which is more than could be said for last year’s fractured and half-cooked entry. Back on form, Modern Warfare 4 brings a campaign that remembers what a COD campaign should be, the usual assortment of polished and infuriating multiplayer modes, and a revamped take on its DMZ extraction shooter that first featured in 2022’s Modern Warfare II. It might not have reinvented anything, but it feels nice to aim down its trusty iron sights again and see the thought and effort evident throughout.

So, then: what should a COD campaign be? The series has asked itself that numerous times in recent years, fluctuating wildly on the silliness spectrum. One minute it’s asked us to take its shady espionage plots incredibly seriously, the next we’re chatting up a senator’s wife to get into the cloakroom at a Bill Clinton rally.

Infinity Ward has controlled that tonal fishtailing this time. The campaign in Modern Warfare 4—not to be confused with 2007’s Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare—focuses on a fictional present-day conflict between North and South Korea, and the warmongers, puppet masters, and beardy punchy men in the shadows who broker its events.

It uses the devices that have served the series best over the years, switching your perspective between sides, placing you in uncomfortable positions, and employing a Pixies-esque, quiet-quiet-LOUD dynamism to its mission pacing.

In this way, it feels connected to the aforementioned 2007 classic, and the better moments of the series since then. Your perspective shifts between a South Korean soldier fulfilling his national service, hirsute CIA assassin gone rogue Captain Price, and a North Korean soldier ordered to abuse and murder civilians. The latter would be a truly shocking sequence, if COD hadn’t done it so many times since that infamous ‘No Russian’ mission.

It does feel that the narrative is trying to fit itself around a bunch of fun mission concepts, rather than vice versa, but that doesn’t mean it can’t also be enjoyable. Star turns from the likes of Mads Mikkelsen show you how much the game cares about telling its story, and that’s admirable. It still comes across like a WWE Network war movie a lot of the time, but it’s sufficient to keep you marching forward into the next fray.

And when you’re ready to decouple from that story, DMZ and multiplayer await. There’s a lot of new stuff to get to grips with in the latter: five new modes, 12 maps, and tweaks to gun behaviour and customization. They do come with some teething troubles like spawn locations that leave you wide open to being insta-killed on respawn, but the modes in particular are impressive.

They run the gamut from Counter-Strike and Valorant-style tactical experiences with Hijack and Counter Attack to more whimsical or warmup play with Gun Game (which is also a riff on a Counter-Strike mode, ironically). Warming up with a round or two of Gun Game—in which you’re equipped with a different gun after each kill and must work through the roster to win—before a serious session in Hijack has become an evening routine that we don’t intend to break for the foreseeable.

What makes all these modes more enjoyable than recent CODs, though, is that the mechanics place the skill back on aiming and shooting. The absurd parkour has been tamed to the odd kneeslide, and weapon behaviour is much more predictable and input-based, so you’re controlling recoil manually rather than simply grinding for better weapon attachments.

Speaking of epic grinds: over in DMZ, the PvPvE component, there’s about a million different progression trackers, unlockables, and ways to level up. It’s overwhelming at first, but over time it becomes compelling. This is essentially Escape from Tarkov with COD guns, in the same way that the series also swallowed PUBG in 2020 and assimilated it into Warzone. Zero points for ingenuity, but nobody makes firing a weapon quite as enjoyable as Infinity Ward.

For anyone unfamiliar with extraction shooters, you drop into occupied Korea with your squad and… well, it’s up to you what happens next. There are objectives to complete. There’s loot to find. And there are computer-controlled and human enemies on the map. Dying during a mission means you lose the gear you were carrying and need to retrieve your operator, so the stakes are much higher than usual.

But while recent genre hits like Arc Raiders force you to be considered and tactical about how and when you engage with even the lowest-level AI enemy, DMZ is far more forgiving. You’ll shoot down dozens of AI soldiers in a typical mission and find useful loot in most buildings. It’s only when another human squad turns up that you’re truly tested.

Some players are requesting a purely PvE mode, as they always do in extraction shooters and battle royales, but with a danger of fragmenting the community and making matchmaking times longer for PvPvE players, it’s unlikely it’ll happen.

If COD turned you off years ago, Modern Warfare 4 does nothing to force a reappraisal. If, however, you can tolerate some profoundly silly storytelling with your mechanically immaculate shooter, this is a return to form that pays its dues to classic campaigns, takes some creative risks in multiplayer and offers admirable value with that substantial—if grindy—DMZ mode.

It’s encouraging to see such an upswing in quality from the series. Now, more than ever, we need the big names in the industry to show the difference that care, creativity, and effort make.

The Department of Public Works and Highways has reportedly completed a total of 990sqm of reblocking on the EDSA Busway, part of the efforts to rehabilitate EDSA. However, asphalt paving still needs to be applied to create a proper road surface. While this work is ongoing, private vehicles will be allowed to use the busway lanes.

After the asphalt work concludes, exclusive use of the EDSA Busway for public transport buses will resume. Lopez also said that motorists can expect a smoother driving experience by then.

Rehabilitation work on EDSA began last year, December 24, with the first phase (covering Roxas Boulevard to Orense Street) completed in July. The second and final phase (Orense Street to Monumento, Caloocan) is targeting completion in 2027.

Like the typical Honda Sensing, this system offers adaptive cruise control, collision warnings, and blind-spot monitoring. However, it also features more bike-centric functions like group-ride assist and rear-vehicle notification. The former acts like cruise control but is better tuned for other bikes, while the latter sends alerts when another vehicle is getting too close behind.

Sensing Ride will debut in 2027 on the CRF1150L Africa Twin Adventure Sports. Honda decided to roll out its new assistance technology on this particular bike as it is the latest product to be equipped with its dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

The brand further explained that its DCT is what allows its adaptive cruise control and group-ride assist to perform smoothly. The automated shifting of gears is said to be as seamless as ever, and we’ll be sure to try it out when it becomes available in the Philippines.

As per said reports, the app was only supposed to enlist 17,746 riders under the LTFRB’s Motorcycle Taxi Pilot Program. This comprises Move It’s operations in Metro Manila, Cebu City, and Cagayan de Oro City. However, the platform will now need to pay P10,000 for each of the 55,575 excess riders.

Moving forward, the LTRFB declared that Move It will be allowed to continue its operations under its original rider count of 17,746. That entails 14,662 Move It riders in Metro Manila, 2,753 in Cebu, and the remaining 361 in Cagayan de Oro.

This comes as the latest installment in the ongoing saga between legislation and motorcycle-taxi operators. In 2019, an initial pilot run saw a 63,000-rider allotment among three major platforms.

During that time, Angkas was threatened with termination, while other platforms were facing closure as the testing period had its own uncertainties. The Department of Transportation and the LTFRB had discussed closing the pilot run early, which would have effectively banned motorcycle-taxis in the Philippines. This was due to alleged violations committed by operators and the pilot run’s disorganized implementation.

However, as you can probably tell, the apps continue to operate, and similar regulations are still being enforced. Hopefully, we’ll see harmony between the platforms and the concerned government agencies in the near future.

The variants in question are the Tasman Command Jeep and the Tasman Double Cargo Cab. The former is identified as a tactical command vehicle, while the latter is a troop carrier with a 13-passenger capacity. Both then use the Tasman’s 2.2-liter diesel engine, rated at 210hp and 410Nm of torque.

Interestingly, the two variants don’t stray too far from the Tasman’s standard dimensions. A stock model measures 5,410mm long, 1,930mm wide, and 1,920mm tall, suggesting that these could be more compact military vehicles. Unlike those Isuzu trucks the Army received last April.

For the everyday trucker, a normal Tasman has also received LTO approval. From the listing, it appears that the base variant is the one on the way.

It could potentially join the fully electric PV5 as an additional commercial offering from Kia Philippines. The bed itself measures 1,512mm long, 1,572mm wide, and 540mm deep, with a capacity of 1,173 liters. In terms of capacities, the Tasman can carry up to 1,195kg and tow up to 3,500kg.

With a rather avant-garde appearance, Kia’s workhorse will definitely stand out in a sea of Hilux, D-Max, and Ranger trucks. As we wait for the Tasman to officially enter the Philippine market, let us know what you think about its design. The comments section is yours.

The naming isn’t shocking, but it does come as a pleasant surprise (at least for me) that the proportions of this smaller scoot aren’t as weird as those of the bigger one. If you think otherwise, we can agree to disagree.

This looks like a traditional adventure scooter, with a windscreen up front and the foldable footboards that the RW700 also gets. There’s also a skid plate underneath and a high-angle exhaust pipe. However, the RW350 looks less bulky up front and doesn’t look awkward at all—if anything, it’s shaped more like an NMax than its RW sibling.

The design is a bit quirky as well, with plastic trims adorning the rear just below the seat. This comes from the ‘TEXNATURE’ concept, which combines textures of nature with its motorcycle designs, such as riverbeds and sands from Japan.

Unlike the 700, though, the RW350 doesn’t get spoke wheels. The smaller scooter still gets the smart key, cruise control, Yamaha Ride Control, and the digital instrument cluster that the bigger one has.

Powering the all-new Yamaha RW350 is a 327cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine capable of 28.8hp at 7,000rpm and 31.5Nm at 5,750rpm. This is a bigger and more powerful engine than the one in the XMax.

With all those details out, the only question remaining is this: When is this coming When’s the 150cc version coming out? That, for sure, is something Filipino riders will like. Tell us in the comments what you guys think.

Meet the all-new Yamaha RW700. The name doesn’t quite roll off the toung like ‘Tenere’ does, and that design...it’s something, isn’t it?

At first glance—and by that I mean press images with the typical front-quarter view of the bike and with a rider on the saddle—it looks like a regular motorcycle. Stylish, even. It clearly borrows design cues from its famed Tenere 700 sibling, which should be a good thing. But as you take a gander at the scooter from other angles, you’ll start to notice its...weird proportions.

Scooters usually have their fuel tanks underneath or at the rear, but in the RW700, it appears Yamaha stuck with a more traditional approach and put the tank in front. That’s all well and good, but the design around that tank is what gets me. It’s a tad too bulky, and it looks awkward. If the Kia Tasman were a bike, it would be this. All that being said, this also means people will have different opinions about this—case in point, some of my teammates who actually like this.

Polarizing design aside, all that heft should improve the off-road riding experience. The added plastic between the rider’s knees should also add surface area to grip on while standing up. The RW700 also gets separate foot pegs and foldable footboards for the rider, enabling multiple riding positions suitable for riding on the trail or strolling around in the city.

Performance won’t be anything to scoff at, either. The RW700 comes powered by the famed 690cc CP2 parallel-twin engine, the same one powering the Tenere 700. It churns out 68.4hp at 8,250rpm and 65Nm at 6,500-6,750rpm.  In Europe, there’s limited-power version that outputs just under 47hp. As standard, this comes with Yamaha’s automated manual transmission (Y-AMT).

Unsurprisingly, the RW700 is heavier than the Tenere. The new scooter weighs 221kg. It has an 810mm/31.89-inch seat height and 170mm of ground clearance. As standard, it rides on 17-inch front and 15-inch rear spoke wheels shod in Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tubeless tires, a 41mm inverted front fork with 160mm of travel, and a rear monoshock with 155mm of travel.

The RW700 gets Yamaha Ride Control, so settings can be customized for either on-road or off-road riding. Cruise control, a smart key, and a five-inch full-color TFT display with Garmin StreetCross connectivity are also available. The windscreen and handguards are standard accessories.

This scooter comes in the base RW700 and the RW700 Explore trims. The former can be had in Sage Blue or Power Grey, while the latter in Forest Green or Midnight Black.

Whereas JDM: Japanese Drift Master’s roads were set in a stylized present day, this time, the world has a lot more fantasy elements to it. The hordes of demonic Youkai are the most obvious of which, but it’s also evident in the environments themselves. You’ll unlock new car parts and combat abilities as you go, and there are even boss fights. Is it Dark Souls on four wheels, then? Hmm - good luck animating a car drinking from an Estus Flask, Gaming Factory.

No release date yet, but the game’s Steam page is live now and has a few more details, including a visually arresting announcement trailer. We’re always up for ambitious genre mashups, so we’ll be keeping a lookout for further updates to this one.

“We are bringing exciting vehicles featuring state-of-the-art technology to market. We are leading the way in electric mobility in Europe. Electric vehicles account for 40% of our order bank. Our Electric Urban Car Family, with 150,000 orders, is making a major contribution to this.

“At the same time, US tariffs weigh on us, the Chinese market is shrinking, and competitive pressure in Europe is increasing significantly. The market success of our electric vehicles is putting additional pressure on our earnings, as we currently earn less from electric vehicles than from combustion-engine vehicles.”

And actually, while Antlitz mentions the market success of the Volkswagen Group’s EVs, total vehicle sales across the group are down by 10.6%. It has shifted 5.9 million cars so far this year, versus almost 6.6 million after nine months of last year. Not great news, particularly if the margins on each car are getting smaller.

Of course, we knew that VW was in trouble. Earlier this year it announced plans to restructure, with up to four factories earmarked for closure and half of its 150 models on the chopping block. These latest results just prove why that’s all necessary.

In terms of the specific brands, we’re told that Porsche actually increased its profits compared to last year, bringing in €1.5 billion (around P106.9 billion) before interest and taxes. Unfortunately, what the group refers to as its ‘Progressive’ brands (Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, and Ducati) saw profits fall by 26% to €1.2 billion (around P85.5 billion). We’re told that was mostly due to declining sales in China and North America.

The profit made by the ‘Core’ brands (Volkswagen, Skoda, Seat, and Cupra) also fell from €4.7 billion last year to €4.3 billion (around P306.4 billion) this year, and the press release accompanying the nine-month results was quick to point out that “strong performance by Skoda offset the weak Operating Result of the Volkswagen brand.” Interesting. A huge €8.7 billion (around P620 billion) of one-off costs decimated the Group’s overall operating profit.

“With our Future Plan, we have defined the key measures to sustainably improve our profitability: a streamlined model range, simpler structures, improved vehicle costs, lower overhead costs, greater efficiency in our plants, and faster technology development,” said Antlitz.

“Together, these form a comprehensive cost program of around €31 billion (around P2.21 trillion). What matters now is swift and consistent implementation.”

Assoluto Racing attempts to bring a proper, Gran Turismo-esque experience to the Switch with its licensed cars, detailed tuning options, and even the full Nürburgring Nordschleife squeezed into a handheld game.

The problems arise when you actually try to play the thing. Even when you dial down the aggressive steering assist, the handling never feels settled, and the entire structure belies the game’s origins as a mobile game designed to charge you real money for the more interesting cars.

Which is a shame, because the selection of vehicles is actually reasonably impressive. In spite of its reputation as a kids’ toy, there’s definitely room for a proper simulator on Nintendo’s wildly popular console, but sadly this ain’t the one. Assoluto rubbish.

Spotting one shouldn’t be too hard either. The ‘First Edition’ gets unique wheelarch badges, 22-inch two-tone wheels, special grey brake calipers, and touches of carbon fiber along the winglets, mirror caps and rear diffuser to reinforce its sporty credentials.

Step inside and, you guessed it, there are more badges, this time on the tread plates. Passengers are also treated to lovely quilted seats, even more carbon fiber and a Naim audio system for all your tunes, or ‘compositions,’ given the badge on the hood.

To add to the ‘sense of occasion,’ the ‘First Edition’ comes with a few neat party tricks too, including the powered front and rear doors and a ‘frosted diamond switchable sunroof.’

Bentley says the ‘First Edition’ “broadens the horizons” for personalizing your Torcal. Customers can choose from an extended range of interior colors and even spec a full-leather interior with contrasting stitching for the full-fat Bentley experience.

Prices? Not confirmed, but consider the base car starts from £173k (about P14.8 million), rising to just under £200k (around P17.1 million) for the Torcal S.

Now. You do not get any more V8 with this limited-edition Cadillac Escalade-V, so there’s the familiar 6.2-liter supercharged leviathan from the regular Escalade-V lurking underneath that vast hood. That allows 680 American horsepowers and 653 American torques (680hp, 884Nm) to run riot through the chassis and to all four wheels via a 10-speed auto.

Caddy quotes 0-97kph in 4.4sec and a 201kph top speed, which—considering the thing weighs about as much as a small moon (over 2.8 tonnes!)—is only mildly terrifying.

As is the price. Yes, it’s limited, because it’s part of Cadillac’s ‘Collector Series’ (like that lovely CT5-V Blackwing). Just 252 Escalade-V 125th Anniversary models will be built… at a starting price of $239,000. That’s over a quarter of a million dollars for a car that—as standard—starts at around $170k.

Indeed, there are more nods to Daddy Brundle’s racing career dotted around the car: a quote running along the dash, signed end plates, an ‘MB’ monogram embossed in the headrests, and seat bolster labels representing the various colours of Brundle’s F1 cars.

There are not, sadly, any nods to Daddy Brundle’s superb punditry career, because having a monogrammed ‘shame you weren’t fast enough for Formula One’ quote emblazoned across the headliner feels like a win.

The wheels and door sills get Brundle branding, there’s a special key, and each car comes with a Bell HP77 F1 helmet signed by the big man himself.

Oh right, there’s a fair bit of ‘car’ sitting underneath all this. It’s spun off GW’s ‘Turbo’ platform (surprise!), which makes it an air-cooled 4.0-liter flat-six with 860hp and 826Nm, a six-speed manual, bespoke suspension, and a “track-focused chassis.”

There’s also a high-downforce rear wing, aero canards on the front, and beefier carbon-ceramic Brembos with forged billet calipers. Just missing a “it’s alright mate, I’m in charge around here’ script on that wing.

Just five of these special Brundle Turbo cars will be built, and each one costs… $1.98m (P126 million). Yeesh. “I can do that, because I did,” you might say.

We’ll gloss over the Tiggo 7, because it’s all-new in the lightest sense of the word, and really it’s the X7 that has piqued our interest here. It’s the first model in Chery’s new Tiggo X series, and promises plenty of off-road chops.

Chery says that it’s “designed for family comfort” as well as “exploration worldwide,” which is good news for those people who’ll buy one and never take it further than the school gates. Classic story there.

Anyway, specific details are few and far between, but it gets a noticeably squared-off body shape, unique moustachioed grille, roof rails, tinted windows, plastic wheelarch cladding, and chunky tires. The latter of which, at least, should be useful off the beaten track.

We’re not told what’s under the hood, the price, or if it’s even coming to non-Asian markets like the United Kingdom. But given the standard car’s £24,995 (about P2.14 million) starting price, if it does make it to the UK, the £81,000(!) Land Cruiser there could truly have a battle on its hands.

More than bragging rights, Pioneer Edition customers will also be entitled to a considerable list of privileges. The most immediate of these benefits is the discount granted when placing a reservation on the brand’s website. Depositing the small fee (P1,000 for the V23, P2,000 for the V27) unlocks a special discount of P10,000 for the V23 or P20,000 for the V27.

Although iCaur Philippines has yet to reveal official pricing for the V23 and V27, it did provide estimates to guide potential customers. The iCaur V23 BEV’S 2WD variant will be priced around P1.5 million, while the 4WD version will sit around the P1.8 million mark. Meanwhile, the iCaur V27 REEV’s 2WD variant will cost around P2.1 million, and the 4WD spec will have a price tag of around P2.5 million. Final pricing is expected to be revealed at the brand launch next month.

iCaur Philippines is also throwing in free accessories for Pioneer Edition customers to sweeten the deal further. Extras include 3M tint applied to all windows, “premium luxury” floor mats, and the ‘Pioneer Edition Kit,’ which seems to be some sort of accessory package to get owners started on dressing up the V23 or V27. Details are light on what exactly this kit is, with iCaur’s provided images being “for illustration purposes only.”

He notes how the Tourbillon is a “platform” rather than a standalone machine. “As it is now, it will not be the last one that we’ll do,” Rimac said. Is he thinking about slinging in a proper manual gearbox? “Absolutely. You bet.”

And when asked about making something like those early pre-war Bugattis—light, nimble—he added: “I think the Tourbillon as it is now makes a lot of sense as a successor to the Chiron. It’s an incredible car.

“But I wonder myself, what’s next for Bugatti and what would be interesting to do? And I think lightweight and simplification of stuff. Instead of a sledgehammer as Bugattis have been for the last 20 years, could you do something that’s also more engaging, more back to the roots, more Type 35?”

“There are so many ideas,” he added. Likely because there’s so much car. To recap: The Bugatti Tourbillon, successor to the Chiron and Veyron, carries an all-new Cosworth-developed 8.3-liter naturally aspirated V16 engine. Sixteen cylinders. Heck, the crankshaft alone measures one meter.

Bolted to this leviathan is an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, while there’s also a 25kWh battery stuffed down the spine of the car, powering three electric motors.

So, you can see how Rimac’s brain is working: With the engine and motors combined, the Tourbillon creates a mammoth 1,775hp...but weighs 1,995kg. Strip away the electricity (battery/motors) and heavy gearbox, and you’re left with 986hp from that nat-asp V16 and a curb weight some 300kg lighter.

Could probably manage that with a manual, no?
