Despite the ongoing risk of COVID-19 outdoors, it seems that child accessories are all the rage. Late last year, Mercedes released the AMG x Hartan stroller, while Bentley introduced its namesake six-in-one trike earlier this month.

MV Agusta is the latest to jump on the kid-friendly mobility bandwagon with the Vintage Wooden Balance Bike. The Italian manufacturer recently made the racing-inspired toy two-wheeler available on its online store.

According to LittleBig.com, a balance bike is a two-wheeler without pedals or stabilizers (training wheels): While it has a frame, fork, handlebars, wheels, etc, it has no drivetrain. To move forwards, kids push off the ground with their feet, like Fred Flintstone.”

The vintage wooden model is a replica of 15-time Grand Prix racing champion Giacomo Agostini’s MV Agusta 500 Three. The man nicknamed ‘Ago’ captured consecutive 500cc titles with the iconic red motorbike bearing the logos from 1966 to 1972.

“Here’s the perfect way to combine playing, experimenting and growing up with a passion for MV Agusta,” part of the press release read. “They help kids develop that sense of balance they will later need to ride a bicycle, and a few years on...a motorcycle!”

The MV Agusta Vintage Wooden Balance Bike is suitable for children aged 18 months to five years. It’s made from eco-friendly materials and meets EU safety standards. The toy bike goes for $198 or around P9,600.
