The much-anticipated 2020 Yamaha NMax has finally found its way into Yamaha local showrooms following its official online launch. This new model is the first product to be unveiled at the ‘Yamaha Rev Stadium’ using digital platforms.
There are currently two variants of the 2020 NMax: Standard and ABS. Powered by a Euro 4-compliant 155cc SOHC liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with Yamaha’s exclusive BlueCore technology and variable valve actuation, this scooter has 15.1hp at 8,000rpm and 19Nm at 6,500rpm at its disposal.
Among the new features for 2020 are a sleek six-bulb LED headlight design made up of four lights on the top row for low beam and two lights below for high beam, and a stylish LED rear taillight that shows three-dimensional illumination. It also boasts keyless entry as well as a bigger multifunction LCD with a speedometer, a fuel-level indicator, and fuel-economy readout.
Stopping duties in both variants are covered by front and rear disc brakes, although as its name indicates, only the higher variant is equipped with ABS. Tiny switch controls on the handlebars allow the rider to select the data on the LCD. And true to its reputation for delivering superb riding comfort, the NMax has a two-level seat design that offers abundant space both for rider and passenger.
For additional convenience, the new NMax has a USB power socket inside the left-hand storage pocket for charging electronic devices. The right-hand side pocket, meanwhile, offers storage space with a waterproof lid that can accommodate a smartphone or a small tablet. The under-seat compartment has a 23-liter storage capacity and can swallow an extra-large full-face helmet plus a few personal items.
