Ducati Philippines has announced that the 2021 Superleggera V4 is now in the country. The Italian brand’s street-legal super sportbike boasts an unrivaled power-to-weight ratio, and is limited to just 500 units worldwide. Each one has a designated number on the steering head, along with a certificate of authenticity from Ducati.
The Superleggera V4 is the only street-legal sportbike in the world fitted with a frame, swingarm, and wheels all made from carbon fiber. These ultra-light components contribute to the its unequaled power-to-ratio of 1.54hp/kg. Dry weight is 159kg for the base variant, and further reduced to 152.2kg if the bike is fitted with the racing kit.
The Superleggera V4’s high-performance package includes a titanium Akrapovic exhaust system, a headlamp and light replacement kit, a license plate and sidestand removal kit, mirror replacement aluminum caps, a racing fuel cap, a brake-lever protector, a motorcycle cover, front and rear stands, a battery charger, and a Ducati Data Analyzer+ (DDA+) with GPS. The carbon-fiber fairings are wrapped in MotoGP-inspired Desmosedici GP livery.
The Superleggera’s compact 998cc V4 engine makes 224hp at 15,250rpm. If fitted with the Akrapovic pipe, the output increases to 234hp at 15,500rpm.
The safety electronics on board include cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control Evo 2, Ducati Wheelie Control Evo, Ducati Slide Control, engine brake control, and automatic tire calibration.
Here’s a bit of bad news: The sole unit at Ducati Manila has yet to be removed from its wooden crate.
“An exclusive preview for VIP customers can be arranged. Get ready to be awed with just the mere presence of this machine,” says the Ducati dealership.
The 2021 Ducati Superleggera V4 is priced at around P8 million.
