Indian Motorcycle is celebrating a hundred years of the Chief by unveiling three new “totally reimagined” variants from the iconic line.
“Combining iconic, American V-twin style with modern performance and technology, we’ve designed the new Chief with a simplistic and mechanical aesthetic that pays homage to the glory days of American motorcycling,” the American manufacturer said of the 2021 Indian Chief, Indian Chief Bobber, and Indian Super Chief.
Each bike is based on the same steel-tube frame and powered by the Thunderstroke 111, a 1,811cc engine that delivers 146Nm of torque at 3,200rpm. All three models come with keyless ignition, cruise control, Pirelli Night Dragon tires, full LED lighting, and three riding modes: Tour, Standard, and Sport.
The Indian Chief is fitted with bobbed fenders, exposed rear shocks, a low seat height, a solo saddle, and mid-mounted foot pegs. It can be customized with saddle bags, a windshield, cams, a big bore kit, and a slip-on exhaust.
Meanwhile, the Chief Bobber features chopped fenders, chunky 16-inch wire wheels, a low solo seat, forward pegs, and mini ape handlebars. The ‘bulldog’ bike also has a large headlight bucket with nacelle, covered forks, and rear shocks.
The Super Chief, for its part, is equipped with saddle bags, a quick-release windshield, and a large headlight bucket. Wire wheels, floorboards, traditional cruiser handlebars, and a two-up touring seat also come standard.
The 2021 Indian Chief is priced at $14,499 (P696,000). The Chief Bobber goes for $15,999 (P768,000), and the Super Chief commands an asking price of $18,499 (P888,000).
