Have you ever owned an Aprilia or Moto Guzzi bike?
These two awesome European marques have made several attempts to establish a foothold in the Philippines, to no avail. The main reason: Most Aprilia and Moto Guzzi units—either from the gray market or the authorized dealerships—have died of ‘natural’ causes due to the lack of spare parts and after-sales service, thus leaving their owners traumatized.
Well, Bikerbox is determined to erase that stigma. The company recently announced its agreement with the Piaggio Group, and in line with this, it deployed its top mechanics to Piaggio Vietnam’s headquarters last month for after-sales service training, specifically for models that are scheduled to be released in the Philippines within the year.
Piaggio’s strong presence in the region is bolstered by its commitment to provide its dealers with all the resources they need to service and maintain bikes they’ve sold. Luigi D’Angelo, Piaggio Group’s training and technical director, led the issuance of certificates of attendance to representatives of various Asia Pacific importers and distributors who attended the training session last month.
Over the course of three days, Fernando Urbina and Reynaldo Gonzales Jr. of Bikerbox received training to service the 2019 Moto Guzzi V85TT, and the 2019 Aprilia RSV V4 1100 Factory and Tuono V4 1100 Factory ASC.
The Moto Guzzi V85TT has a newly redesigned 850cc air-cooled 90-degree transverse engine, and is a unique alternative if you’re in the market for an adventure steed. The two Aprilias, meanwhile, are the first of the brand’s bikes to be equipped with the new 1,078cc V4 engine, and are powerful options for a track bike and a naked street fighter.
Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, and Vespa are being sold and serviced by Bikerbox at its Parañaque facility. Bikerbox is also the official after-sales provider for Moto Morini, and a dealer and service provider for Vespa, KTM, Royal Enfield, and Kymco.
The new motorcycle models from Aprilia and Moto Guzzi are from Noale and Mandello del Lario, Italy, and should be available at the Bikerbox showroom by August or September 2019.
