To further improve riding safety and enjoyment, Honda is making Android Auto available on the current-model Gold Wing GL1800 luxury tourer to give riders easy access to navigation, communication, and entertainment apps without compromising their safety.

Developed by Google, Android Auto is a feature that allows for an Android-powered smartphone’s interface to be mirrored on a compatible head unit. When the user’s smartphone is connected to the Gold Wing via Android Auto, he may control music, take phone calls, and access navigation without losing focus on the road, thanks to its simplified interface and voice commands.

Powered by a 1,833cc liquid-cooled, horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine that produces 125hp and 171Nm, mated to a dual-clutch transmission, the latest version of the iconic Honda two-wheeler was launched locally by Honda Philippines in December 2018, with an asking price of P1,880,000.

This touring bike’s modern driver aids include Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), electronic suspension preload, cruise control, a slipper clutch, hill-start assist, walking/reverse mode, an airbag package, and four riding modes: Tour, Sport, Rain, and Econ. As a luxury model, among its suite of features are a smart-key ignition system, multiple charging points, a rocking sound system, and a seven-inch TFT display.

The current Gold Wing model was already the first motorcycle to come with Apple CarPlay integration. Android Auto will be available by mid-June this year at no extra cost. And with both features coming to more models soon, Honda plans to deliver improved comfort and convenience to riders around the world.
