Yoshimura Japan Co. Ltd., one of the world's largest aftermarket performance parts maker for motorcycles, is coming to the country.

Yoshimura is primarily known as a parts manufacturer for big bikes but its partnership with Suzuki Philippines, Inc. will allow it to introduce products for smaller bikes.

"Our collaboration will be on two levels. First, Yoshimura will develop performance kits for Suzuki motorcycles for introduction in the Philippine market. Second, Yoshimura will provide technical support and develop racing modifications for our Suzuki racing team," said Suzuki Philippines president Satoshi Uchida.

Yoshimura's performance kit, composed of an exhaust, camshaft and racing gasket, will be available for Suzuki's Raider 150 by the end of the month. The performance kit promises to provide a boost as well as enhance the bike's sporty look.

The first Yoshimura-tuned bike, a Suzuki Raider R150, is expected to debut on the third leg of the Underbone King Championship at the Batangas Racing Circuit on June 21, 2009.

"We hope that with our success in the Philippine motorcycle market, we will be able to expand to other countries in the ASEAN region," said Masanori Ueno, Yoshimura general manager for research and development.
