BMW has finally revealed the details of the all-new X3, which is scheduled to to go on sale in the global market next year.

The new BMW X3, which had its public debut at the Paris Motor Show, is slightly larger than its predecessor. It is 78mm longer and 14mm taller than the current X3, while its wheelbase was increased by 15mm. The vehicle, however, is 4mm narrower than the old X3.

The X3 will be available with two engine choices: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel Common Rail direct injection mill with an output of 184hp and 380Nm of torque for the xDrive20d and a 3.0-liter inline-six BMW TwinPower Turbo-equipped petrol engine  that produces 306hp and 400Nm of torque for the xDrive35i.

For the xDrive20d, acceleration from zero to 100kph is at 8.5 seconds while the top speed is at 210kph. With an average fuel consumption of 5.6 liters for every 100 kilometers, BMW claims the X3 xDrive20d establishes a new benchmark for diesel fuel efficiency in its segment.

Other added features in the all-new X3 include a brake energy regeneration system, electric power steering and tires with reduced rolling resistance, which contribute towards lowering fuel consumption and exhaust emission levels.

Like the rest of BMW's X models, the all-new X3 will be produced in BMW's Spartanburg, South Carolina plant in the United States as the carmaker’s manufacturing facility at Magna in Graz, Austria, is being retooled to produce the new Mini Countryman.
