Yes folks, this is the new Mitsubishi Strada. You may have already seen spy shots of the camo-covered truck circulating online, but this is our first official look courtesy of the Japanese carmaker.
It was subtly put up on the company's media site inside a press release marking the manufacturer's 40 years producing pickups, and based on what we're seeing, it looks very familiar.
Granted, it isn't much. As with most teaser images, the manufacturer has exposed very little of the vehicle, opting to leave most of it draped in shadows. We do get a good enough look at the new Strada's front face/fender area though, which features sleeker swept-back LED headlights and large foglights akin to the Mitsubishi Xpander. You'll also notice a six-spoke wheel design, too.
Round components have been replaced with sharper lines and edges. Overall, it's a design that's much more in line with the rest of Mitsubishi's current 'Dynamic Shield' lineup—offerings like the recently released Xpander, Montero Sport, and Eclipse Cross.
"And the future of the pickup will soon be revealed," the company says in the press release. We can't wait to see the whole thing.
