As of this writing, no local specs have been made available. The one revealed a few months ago is powered by a 1.5-liter engine, and is built on a ladder frame with a three-link rigid-axle suspension. It comes equipped with 4WD, naturally, with a low-range transfer gear. Judging by the vehicle’s stout demeanor, it’s safe to say this all-new Jimny will be crawling across Philippine jungles and off-road trails very soon.
The Jimny has been a popular grownup’s toy for decades. If its lifespan is anything to go by, then it’s safe to say that the nameplate has a lot of staying power—only four generations have been manufactured since 1970. The fourth-generation model, which was revealed to the world earlier this year, has been rumored to be arriving on our shores for the last few weeks. While no official prices are available yet, a sales agent at PIMS informed us that the price tag should be around the P1.1 million mark.
Are you excited for the Jimny's arrival? Furthermore, are any of you going to reserve a unit?
