With the recent launch of the all-new Toyota Camry in the Philippines, is Honda about to launch its equivalent midsize sedan as well? If the all-new Accord’s recent reveal in Thailand is any indication, then the answer might be a resounding yes.
The 10th-generation Accord has just surfaced in the Land of Smiles less than a week before this year’s Bangkok International Motor Show. Compared to its predecessor, it has a sportier and more Civic-esque look. It’s also lighter and roomier thanks to some clever engineering.
Worth noting here are the powertrain choices. The Thai-spec Accord comes with either a 1.5-liter turbo engine with 187hp and 243Nm, or a hybrid system with a 2.0-liter i-VTEC mill and two electric motors that produce a total of 212hp. Extra features include the Honda Sensing suite of safety tech, and an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment display that supports Apple CarPlay and Siri voice command.
We’ll be reporting to you live from Bangkok for next week’s show, where we expect the Accord will have a prime spot at the Honda booth. We’ll show you what it looks like up close once the show opens. Would you like to see this executive sedan on our streets?
