Audi’s crossover game just took a step up: The premium car manufacturer has launched the 2020 Q3 in the Philippines packing an attractive mix of luxury, performance, and safety, and its competitors should be on notice.
At the heart of Audi’s newest local offering is a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine capable of 150hp and 250Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. That output is good for a 0-100kph time of 8.7sec, and a top speed of 220kph.
The brand has made the latest Q3 more practical, too. It’s larger now, being 96mm longer and 18mm wider than to its predecessor, with a 77mm increase in wheelbase. The vehicle also features 675 liters of luggage capacity, which expands to 1,525 liters with the rear seats folded.
Despite the larger dimensions, the Q3 manages to look as compact and sporty as ever thanks to a sleek, nicely proportioned body featuring clean lines and a handful of aggressive design cues, as well as attractive LED daytime running lights and 18-inch alloy wheels. It’s still undoubtedly one of the most attractive options in its segment.
Audi has also made the Q3 one of the most feature-rich nameplates in the business. There’s a new octagonal 10.1-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, and the electronic tailgate makes loading things into the rear more convenient than ever. Safety and convenience tech include Hold Assist, Hill Descent Control, Park Assist with Parking Aid Plus, and a rearview camera.
“In its second-generation form, the Audi Q3 appears not only visually more confident, but is also roomier and more versatile. It has great all-around talents,” Audi Philippines head Benedicto Coyiuto said in a statement. “The all-new Q3’s introduction definitely strengthens our position in the country’s luxury SUV segment. We are quite excited to have this model in our lineup.”
