Well, that was quick. BMW has provided a solution for anyone who thinks the all-new 1-Series—which was unveiled to the world not too long ago—looks rather tame, and it comes in the form of some impactful M Performance bits.
Considerably punchier in appearance, isn’t it? Though we doubt any amount of accessories will mask the fact the car’s now driven via the front wheels. Still, it’s a fine look, so let’s dive into it.
There’s the usual doozy of aero add-ons, like the M Performance front splitter and rear spoiler in attractive high-gloss black—styling that carries over to hand-crafted carbon-fiber bits of the car, including the flashy exterior mirror caps. BMW’s signature kidney grille also comes in a mesh design here.
M Performance rims for the 1-Series can be had in 18 or 19 inches, and come in a stealthy jet-black matte finish. Cool, though you can opt for bicolor 19-inch M Performance alloys if that’s more your type.
Probably the bigger deal is what’s hidden behind these wheels: 18-inch M Performance sports brakes. These, BMW says, not only look flashy in red, but also add “enhanced deceleration performance and increased thermal resilience.”
Finally, the interior gets an M Performance steering wheel with an alcantara grip and silver-gray hand-sewn cross-stitching, carbon-fiber shift paddles, fancy floor mats, and snazzy-looking door projectors featuring the company’s M logo.
