Ford Philippines is really making a push into the midsize-SUV market this year.

The company has just announced that it will be introducing the Ford Everest’s Sport variant on March 18, potentially expanding the nameplate’s lineup to four trims—the Everest 2.0 Turbo Titanium 4x2, the 2.0 Bi-Turbo Titanium+ 4x4, the 2.2 TDCi Trend 4x2, and now the Sport.

No other details have been provided by the American car manufacturer as of this writing, but expect the Everest Sport to be positioned right below the top-of-the-line Titanium+. The powerplant is capable of 178hp and 420Nm of torque, and is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The interior, meanwhile, only gets ‘Sport’ accented seats with blue stitching.

No prices yet, but we’ll release more info as soon as the Everest Sport is launched later this month. Will this Everest’s sporty exterior vibe help convince you to choose it over the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, the Mitsubishi Montero Sport, or the Nissan Terra? Let us know in the comments.
