Ford PH officially launches the F-150 with a P2.698-M starting price

The American carmaker brings in the big guns

It’s finally here—the Ford F-150, the American carmaker’s iconic full-size pickup truck offering, has been officially launched in the Philippine market. If you’ve been thinking that the Ranger is too small, well, you now have an alternative.

Locally, the truck will be available in two variants, one a 4x4 and the other a 4x2. Both will be powered by the same 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine capable of 375hp at 5,000rpm and 637Nm of torque at 3,500rpm mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. You can check out the prices below:

Along with that ultra-macho exterior comes ultra-massive dimensions. Both variants measure in at a sizeable 5,890mm in length and 2,029mm in width, and come with a 3,683mm wheelbase. The 4x4 unit, though, come in at a taller 1,961mm in height with 239mm of ground clearance compared to the 4x2’s 1,920mm height and 216mm of clearance. For comparison, the Ford Ranger comes in at 5,354mm long, 1,860mm high, and 1,821mm wide.

Also, note that the higher-end variant has noticeably more going for it when it comes to the interior. For starters, it comes with genuine ash wood and aluminum trim, as well as color-coordinated flooring and premium mats. In terms of entertainment, though, both variants are on an even playing field with an 8-inch touchscreen SYNC 3 infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility mated to a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound setup.

Local units also get a host of advanced safety features like pre-collision assist with autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and a lane-keeping system. The F-150 also comes equipped with driving convenience features like a 360-degree camera, and Active Park Assist.
