Isuzu has just expanded its lineup in the UK, and one of the offerings is yet another vehicle we could only wish would arrive here on our shores. While it’s not the all-new D-Max just yet, it’s still a new edition of the D-Max XTR, an iteration of the popular truck that we think would have fitted well in our market.
The D-Max XTR first saw the light of day as a prototype when it was put up on display at the 2019 Commercial Vehicle Show. It has since been put into production, and has seen success in the UK market at that. Now, Isuzu has decided to up the ante and introduce a new bodykit for the XTR. So, as we sit on our hands waiting for the next-generation D-Max to arrive, the Japanese carmaker is already spicing things up on the other side of the globe. But we digress.
Aside from the standard performance upgrades (brakes, suspension) already available on the XTR, the new Isuzu D-Max XTR Color Edition comes with some aesthetic improvements both inside and out.
For starters, exterior highlights such as the bumper guard, the wheel arches, and the hood protector have been repainted to match the truck’s body color and give it a classier, more premium vibe. The green Isuzu front-grille badge is now a standard feature, and helps retain some nice contrast along with the foglamp housing that’s been left untouched.
Inside, green XTR logos have been stitched onto the front-seat headrests as well as the rear center headrest. The seats also get green stitching to provide even more contrast. Frankly, all the changes may be subtle, but they’re substantial enough to make a difference.
