The D-Max is one of Isuzu’s longest-running nameplates in the Philippines. Since its arrival in 2003, it has built its reputation as one of the most durable, fuel-efficient, and capable workhorses in its segment.
While the current generation of this pickup truck already offers a number of variants that customers can choose from, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) is now expanding that selection even further as it launched the new Isuzu D-Max LS-A variant earlier today.
At first glance, you’ll already see what’s different with this D-Max. For starters, it features a dark gray grille, front bumper, and foglamp housings that give it an aggressive stance. The same contrasting color can also be seen in the side mirrors, stepboard, rocker panel, cargo extender, and roof rails. The fenders that enclose the two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels also sport the same style.
Inside, this pickup basically looks the same as the other existing variants. It still features a dark theme and is still also fitted with leather seats. An eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system can be seen up front above the climate control buttons set up in a familiar circular layout.
Under the hood, the D-Max LS-A packs a 4JJ1-TCX 3.0-liter inline four Blue Power diesel engine with a turbo intercooler. This is capable of producing 175hp and 380Nm of torque, and is mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. It comes in a 4x2 or 4x4 drive layout.
It also has its fair share of driver-assist features, including ABS with electronic brake force distribution and brake assist, traction control, electronic stability control, hill start assist, and hill descent control. It also has a reversing camera with parking sensors.
As far as prices go, this new variant carries a price tag that isn’t too different from Isuzu’s previous offerings. You can check out the full list below:
