A couple of months after officially bringing in its first-ever all-electric vehicle to the Philippines, Jaguar has now launched the new F-Type.

The new model arrives with a refreshed look, boasting a sportier-looking front fascia with larger air intakes and slightly redesigned DRLs compared with the previous model. Moving on to the inside, the two-seater sports car gets a 12.3-inch interactive instrument cluster paired with a 10-inch Touch Pro infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Sound from this head unit is produced through a 380W Meridian audio setup.

“The Jaguar F-Type truly is the worthy successor of the most beautiful car ever made, the legendary E-Type,” said Coventry Motors Corporation president Chris Ward. “The F-Type still embodies the traditional Jaguar craftsmanship and is enhanced with modern contemporary design. Like its predecessor, the E-Type, it sports a distinct luxury sports-car look that made everyone who laid eyes on the vehicle mesmerized.”

The new F-Type comes with only two engine options in our market: a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turobpetrol engine that generates 296hp, and a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 that’s capable of 567hp and 699Nm of torque. The former comes as standard, while the latter can only be had via indent orders. Both are mated to an eight-speed Quickshift gearbox with SportShift gear selectors and paddle shifters. Unfortunately, the 444hp 5.0-liter V8 option in between (sort of) these two won’t be available.

“In the 1960s when the E-Type was released, it was ahead of its league with its racing qualifications, engine performance and, head-turning good looks,” added Ward. “The F-Type exemplifies the same thrilling drive experience, performance, and the show-stopping design and stance.”

The Jaguar F-Type can now be had for P6,190,000. No word on how much the supercharged V8 will set you back, but we reckon it’ll be available upon request. In any case, what do you make of this new Jag? If you want to see this thing in the metal, you can check it out along with the legendary E-Type at the All British Cars Showroom in Greenhills from September 18 to 24, and at the BGC Boutique Showroom from September 25 to 30.
