The arrival of the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross in the Philippines was hampered by the COVID-19 pandemic. Back in March, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines (MMPC) had to call off both its launch event and mall display when quarantine measures were put in place to curb the spread of the virus.

Still, the crossover-MPV arrived despite the situation, and has been on sale since March. But now, MMPC is making its presence official by formally introducing the Xpander Cross in the Philippine market. And in case you need a refresher on it, you can read our previous Launch Pad feature here.

“The Xpander is a very important product to MMPC as it fits many of the vehicle requirements of Filipinos,” said company president and CEO Mutsuhiro Oshikiri. “It provides reliable performance, a spacious and comfortable interior, a host of safety features, and a very bold design. Now with the entry of the Xpander Cross and its added features, we see renewed potential to the already successful Xpander nameplate.”

Along with this announcement, MMPC also introduced the celebrities Drew and Iya Arellano as its newest brand ambassadors. “The Arellano family is the best representation of a modern and adventurous Filipino family,” said Alvin Dalida, first vice president for marketing and sales. “Despite their hectic schedule, both Drew and Iya are still able to balance a fun and healthy lifestyle. They both excel in their professional careers, are known for their sporty lifestyle, and still manage to be amazing parents to their kids.”
