Summer is right around the corner (at least here in the Philippines) and Jeep is greeting it with the reveal of two new beach-themed creations: the 2021 Jeep Wrangler and Renegade Islander special edition models.
First up is the Wrangler Islander, a model that marks its return after more than a decade away from the Jeep stable. This is built on the Wrangler Sport S and boasts the Jeep Command-Trac 4x4 part-time, two-speed transfer case with a low-range gear ratio. It also comes with 17-inch Rubicon Silver Finish aluminum wheels shod in all-terrain tires and Rubicon Rock Rails.
A wide range of quirky color options for the Wrangler Islander are available. These are: Billet Silver, Black, Chief, Granite Crystal, Bright White, Firecracker Red, Hellayella, Sarge Green, Snazzberry, and Sting-Gray. It comes standard with a white three-piece hardtop.
“Our Jeep enthusiasts expect legendary Jeep 4x4 capability, and they also embrace the Jeep brand’s fun ‘go anywhere, do anything’ adventure lifestyle,” said Jeep Brand North America vice president Jim Morrison. “With Surf Blue accent stitching, Islander-embroidered front seats and available white three-piece hardtop on the Wrangler, you can’t help but think summer and the beach life when you see these new Islander special editions.”
The Renegade Islander, meanwhile, is a new introduction. This is based on the Renegade Latitude and packs features like the aforementioned Uconnect 4 and infotainment system on the Wrangler Islander.
The Jeep Active Drive full-time 4x4 system, a keyless entry system with a panic alarm, a remote start system, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and the 19-inch Silver Alloy wheels with all-season tires all come as standard as well. Color options for this Renegade are namely: Bikini, Jetset Blue, Glacier, and Omaha Orange.
Both the Wrangler and Renegade sport Tiki Bob hood decals and a white roof on the outside and premium black fabric seats with embroidered Islander logos and Surf Blue accent stitching on the inside. An Alpine White painted roof comes as standard.
Man, these two make us miss the beach even more. If you had to pick, which model would you get and in what colorway? Tell us in the comments.
