Yet another special-edition Mini has arrived in the Philippines. Following last year’s launches of the John Cooper Works GP and the Convertible Sidewalk Edition, Mini Philippines is now introducing the new Mini Paddy Hopkirk Edition.
Think Mini Monte Carlo Edition, but make it more Paddy Hopkirk. This hatch is the ultimate tribute to the man’s legendary victory at the Monte Carlo Rally in 1964. It still sports the original winning car’s start number 37 all around, but it also wears Hopkirk’s signature both inside and out to boot.
The signature can be found on the LED entry sills, on some parts of the interior, on the liftgate, and on the hood. Speaking of the hood, there’s also the 33 EJB embossed on the bonnet, a hark back to the letter-number combination of the license plate of the 1964 rally-winning Mini.
The Mini Excitement Package and Comfort Access come as standard with this one, so expect a host of driver amenities and safety tech to be available as well.
Based on the Mini Cooper S 3 Door, the Paddy Hopkirk Edition is powered by a 2.0-liter turbopetrol that generates 192hp and 280Nm of torque. It can do 0-100kph in 6.7sec and tops out at 235kph. Average fuel consumption, meanwhile, is at 17.5km/L.
The Mini Paddy Hopkirk Edition is now available in showrooms nationwide and comes with a sticker price of P3,250,000. What do you think of this one, readers? Check out more photos of it below, then tell us in the comments.
