The new Nissan Terra is about to break cover with what will likely be a new face, a redesigned rear, and a revamped interior. This isn’t stopping the Japanese carmaker from releasing a considerably more subtle update for the Thai market, though.
Nissan Thailand has released a new Terra called the Energetic Package 2 right before the global unveiling of the midsize SUV’s full refresh. Noticeable aesthetic alterations here consist of edgier front and rear bumpers, a gloss black V-Motion grille, and a new Monarch Orange color option.
Inside, you’ll find new trim on the center console. New features have been added, too, in the form of NissanConnect support, a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment setup with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, rear HDMI and USB ports, and a new auto liftgate for the rear.
And that’s about it. It’s not bad as far as vehicle updates go, but it’ll only be a matter of time before this news is buried by an avalanche of stories about the full-on Terra refresh.
Underneath the hood of the new Terra in Thailand is a 2.3-liter twin-turbo engine with 187hp and up to 450Nm of torque mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. This midsize SUV carries a starting price of 1,299,000 Thai baht (just over P2 million).
“Nissan has updated the new Terra MY20 and new Note MY20 with distinctive designs and enhanced functionality, creating advanced cars at affordable prices for consumers,” Nissan Thailand vice president of marketing Adisai Sirisinha said in a statement.
“The updated vehicles play into the growing need of Thai customers to stay connected, also in the car, and to stand out from the crowd. It really is for those who dare to take on the impossible.”
