If you’re a fan of the all-new Z4 or planning to upgrade to a 3-Series, we have some good news for you: SMC Asia Car Distributors Corporation, the German manufacturer’s official local distributor, has announced that both vehicles will be entering the market on June 11, 2019.
Not much has been revealed outside of the two cars’ launch date, but sources tell us that the 3-Series will only be available with a gasoline engine—this includes the 330i packing a four-cylinder turbo capable of 254hp and a 5.8-second 0-100kph time. Awesome, but we do still hope the 320d somehow lands on our shores.
No word yet on what the Philippine-spec Z4 will come with. Outside, the roadster can be had with either a four-cylinder 2.0-liter TwinPower turbo (255hp and 400Nm of torque) or a 3.0-liter six-cylinder in-line (340hp and 500Nm). The former’s good for 0-100kph in 4.5 seconds, with the latter getting there in 5.4 seconds.
Both cars are stunning to look at, and frankly, we think it’s a win-win regardless of what’s made available provided both cars live up to the hype.
And that’s it so far. Prices have yet to be provided but expect them to be announced when the two cars make their Philippine debut on June 11. Check back then for more details.
