What wasn’t a treat to many, however, were the faces that the two new luxury sedans came with. See, both the M3 and M4 have been given the massive double kidney grille treatment up front. Grilles that Top Gear was able to get up close and personal with during a shoot prior to the big reveal.
Not the most exciting way to put it, we admit, but thanks to that, we get a full tour of the two new Bimmers courtesy of Jack Rix. But before we let Mr. Rix himself do all the talking for us, we’ll run you quickly through the most basic of numbers first in case you missed them this morning.
Both the standard M3 and M4 pack 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six engines that generate 480hp and 550Nm of torque mated to a six-speed manual. The Competition versions, meanwhile, get the same engine, but maximum output jumps to 510hp and 650Nm, and it gets a different eight-speed M Steptronic transmission as well.
Now, with all that out of the way, it’s time you take a look at the all-new M3 and M4 yourself and learn everything else about it. The clip here was only shot inside a studio and the guys weren’t exactly able to take the cars out for a drive, but Rix still got to dive deep into detail about both.
