As you know, the 2015 Manila Auto Salon is happening this weekend. Needless to say, there are cars and booth babes to see. But we want to inform you now that if you could lay your eyes on just one thing inside the exhibit hall of the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, it should definitely be this, Car Porn Racing's "Black Manta."
Car Porn Racing boss Ian King sent us an e-mail to explain what this car is all about.
"Happy to present my craziest project," Ian wrote. "It's been three years in the build, and it's finally on debut at the Manila Auto Salon."
According to Ian, the Black Manta is actually a sixth-generation Chevrolet Corvette sporting a "C7 facelift and a custom rebody designed by Jon Sibal and built by us." He added: "This is our working prototype, and after the car show, we will do some track testing before we proceed to produce a carbon-fiber body."
Ian noted that the car still has the C6 Corvette's 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine. He also mentioned several aftermarket products that his team had installed on the car, and these include, among others, an E-Force supercharger kit, Pfadt sway bars and engine supports, Varex exhaust, StopTech big brake kit, DPE wheels, Nitto tires and Recaro seats. Other stuff thrown in are a carbon driveshaft, racing clutch and an aluminum center column.
But merely reading these aftermarket goodies obviously can't compare to actually seeing the car in the metal. So if you have the time, swing by the Manila Auto Salon today or tomorrow (November 15 is the last day). We guarantee you the Black Manta is worth the trouble.
