It appears that Chevrolet Philippines is on a quest to cater to the niche performance-buying market. First, it launched the Corvette on our shores last year. Now, the American carmaker has announced that it will reveal the equally iconic Camaro at the upcoming 2019 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).
Chevy hasn’t revealed any details yet, just a teaser image of a Camaro grille with an RS badge. Based on this, we can assume that an LT variant with the RS Appearance Package will take center stage at MIAS. The Package includes aesthetic upgrades like 20-inch split-spoke aluminum wheels, LED headlamps with an LED light bar, blacked-out front and rear bowtie badges, a lip spoiler, and a fin-style antenna.
The LT variants run on either a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine capable of 275hp and 400Nm, or the classic 3.6-liter V6 with 335hp and 385Nm. Transmission options include a six-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic. We’ll have more info and photos for you once Chevy unveils the actual car at MIAS.
