As we reported earlier, Chevrolet’s Philippine-market distributor, The Covenant Car Company Inc., has seen its sales skyrocket this year. With 5,954 units sold from January to September 2014, the company has chalked up a 73.5% sales increase over the same period last year.
According to TCCCI president Alberto Arcilla, the main contributors to Chevrolet's growth in the market are the Trailblazer SUV, the Colorado pickup and the Spin MPV.
Arcilla believes, however, that every car brand should offer its halo car in the market it operates in, which is why Chevrolet Philippines is planning to bring in the seventh-generation Corvette Stingray in 2015.
"The problem is that the demand in the US alone for the Corvette is so high that we have to convince them (General Motors, Chevrolet's mother company) that there's a demand for it here," Arcilla shared.
