In January, we reported that 300 units of the classic DeLorean DMC-12 would be assembled and sold to extremely lucky (and presumably wealthy) buyers. Yep, the same car made globally and historically popular by the 1985 Hollywood film Back To The Future. You read that right: They're resurrecting the iconic model via a handful of units (possibly more, if demand is strong enough).
Now, unless they're upgrading the powertrain and other major mechanical components of this car, chances are it will still be the same mediocre automobile that would have gone unnoticed had Dr. Emmett Brown not chosen it as a convenient time machine. But heck, we still want one--especially after watching the video teaser above!
We know the Mazda MX-5 and the Toyota 86 are the sports cars to have the past few years, but they've got nothing on the DMC-12 in terms of wow factor. Imagine pulling up by the curb to pick up your date, and then saying: "Can I make you forget about the present time?"
Damn, that's cheesy. Watch the video. If nothing else, the seductive song is worth the listen.
