We have to commend our readers for being proactive. Immediately after we had posted the story on the new Toyota Yaris in the wee hours today, a few of them provided us with a link to the English-language version of the Yaris microsite from Toyota Thailand, which we couldn\'t find earlier.
Thanks to these readers, we can now tell you what the specs of the all-new Yaris are--at least in Thailand.
Apparently, all four variants of the Yaris will be equipped with a 1.2-liter, dual VVT-i engine that, paired with a Super CVT-i transmission, puts out 85hp and 108Nm.
Much like the Vios, the new Yaris rides on the same front MacPherson struts and rear torsion-beam suspension.
While the Yaris and the Vios share the same dimensions--wheelbase, width and height--the five-door hatchback is much shorter lengthwise at 4,115mm and rides a little lower with a ground clearance of 136mm. It\'s also about 30kg lighter at 1,040kg.
The top-spec G variant sports projector headlamps, chromium treatments to the hatch trim and door handles, electronically operated hatch, leather-clad steering wheel and gear knob, keyless entry, push-start button, and a fully automatic air-conditioning system.
