A red paint job might make your car look like it can break the speedometer, but black is undoubtedly the color that screams "cool and badass" in one glimpse. Think Dominic Toretto's classic Dodge Charger, or the ever-changing but always dark Batmobile. The blacked-out look can make even an ordinary car look sleek and sinister in an instant, and that's exactly what Honda Cars Philippines has done with two of its most popular models.
The Japanese carmaker has just announced that it will be selling a limited run of Jazz and City Black Edition variants in the Philippines. The two subcompacts will get the Crystal Black Pearl treatment along with original factory-installed Modulo or Mugen accessories. There will be 100 units sold in total: 60 1.5 E CVT and VX Navi CVT City Modulos, 10 1.5 VX Navi CVT Citys with Mugen add-ons, and 30 Jazz 1.5 VX CVT Modulo models. All variants will be powered by Honda's 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine.
The City Modulo Black Editions boast front, rear, and side under spoilers, a wing spoiler at the back, a new front grille, 16-inch black Modulo wheels and a Modulo emblem. The Mugen City will have under spoilers in the same places, a front sports grille, 16-inch black alloy wheels, and a Mugen emblem.
The Jazz Black Edition will also get the surrounding under spoilers, a trunk spoiler, a new front grille, a shark fin antenna, plus 16-inch Modulo wheels and emblem.
The prices for the Jazz and City Black Edition variants are:
*City 1.5 E CVT Modulo: P874,000
*City 1.5 VX Navi CVT Modulo: P983,000
*City 1.5 VX Navi CVT MUGEN: P1,043,000
*Jazz 1.5 VX CVT Modulo: P998,000
