If you’re the adrenaline-seeking type, chances are you’ve dreamt of having some sort of all-terrain vehicle (ATV) inside your garage. These zippy, go-anywhere adventure rides tick all the right boxes: They’re quick and loud, and they allow passengers to get up close and personal with the terrain.
So, are these little off-roaders your kind of toy? Then you’re going to love the latest Honda has come up with: the Honda Talon 1000X-4 and Talon 1000X-4 Fox Live Valve.
The Japanese manufacturer’s newest side-by-side utility task vehicles (UTVs) pack a 999cc four-valve parallel-twin engine mated to a dual-clutch transmission. Paddle shifters are included, and shifting into ‘Sport’ mode allows for more spirited fun in the dirt via longer revs and manual gear changes.
More important, these kickass rides comes with Fox Podium Quick Switch 3 shocks with 14.6 inches and 15 inches of travel in the front and rear, respectively. The Live Valve version comes with a semi-active electronic suspension that adjusts up to 16 times per second, depending on your driving mode. “The result is an incredible ride and unmatched handling, with minimal body roll and stellar high-speed tracking in rough terrain,” Honda says.
The best part? Both vehicles seat up to four individuals, so you can show off your dune bashing skills to friends.
“By far the most common request we’ve heard in that time is for the capability to carry additional passengers, so it’s gratifying to bring the Talon 1000X-4 and Talon 1000X-4 Fox Live Valve to market so quickly,” says Chris Cox, Honda America’s experiential marketing manager.
Both the Talon 1000X-4 and Talon 1000X-4 Fox Live Valve go on sale in the US in the latter half of 2019. We think we know what we want for Christmas this year.
