Jeep is set to turn 80 next year. And in celebration, it will be releasing six new 80th Anniversary models in the fourth quarter of 2020.
The special-edition models are the Wrangler, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, Compass, and Renegade. Aesthetic changes make up most of the changes here, including 18-, 19-, and 20-inch Granite Crystal wheels clad in Bridgestone Dueler all-terrain tires. Standard across the range is a fourth-generation Uconnect system with a new 8.4-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility as well as SiriusXM satellite radio capabilities.
“After nearly 80 years, the Jeep brand remains true to the original SUV by continuing to deliver legendary 4x4 capability that has enabled countless adventures and open-air freedom,” said FCA North America head of Jeep Brand Jim Morrison. “As we celebrate our 80th anniversary, we’re pleased to provide our customers with 80th Anniversary models that offer a unique appearance, great value and loads of safety and technology features.”
In addition to this, the carmaker will also be expanding the Jeep Wave Customer Care program to the entire Jeep lineup starting with the 2021 model year. With this, Jeep customers won’t have to pay for their first three oil changes. There will also be free tire rotations in the first three years of ownership.
For the duration of the five-year/60,000-mile (96,500km) warranty, customers can also avail of 24/7 roadside assistance. “As a tribute to our unique, enthusiastic and growing customer base, we are expanding our Jeep Wave customer care program across the entire Jeep vehicle lineup,” added Morrison. “We are pleased to reward our loyal customers with Jeep Wave premium service that offers peace of mind and no-charge maintenance for three years.”
