The Wrangler is a mighty SUV and is one of the most iconic nameplates of Jeep. If you read Top Gear PH stories regularly, you may even recall the Wrangler that took on waist-deep floods and went viral on social media just a couple of months back. If that isn’t enough proof of the capabilities of this 4x4, we don’t know what is.

While the Wrangler has already established its position as one of the strongest off-roaders available on the market, Jeep is seeking to expand even further what it has to offer. The American carmaker has announced it is now offering—in the US, that is—two new special editions of the model: the Wrangler Willys and the Wrangler Black & Tan

“Special editions are a perfect way for Jeep to connect with customers and feed their ideas and passion into the brand and its vehicles,” said Jeep Brand North America head Jim Morrison. “Wrangler Willys harkens back to the original Jeep while Wrangler Black & Tan offers a unique look with a tan top. We are proud that both new models will add to the wide appeal Jeep Wrangler already offers.”

The Willys sports a bold but utilitarian exterior look, highlighted by the prominent hood decal, 17-inch aluminum wheels boasting a unique black design with gray pad print, and a grille that sees a similar design to those of the Wranglers of old, but painted with a gloss-black sport finish.

This special-edition model is as off-road-ready as any Wrangler ever will be, being equipped with a limited-slip rear differential, Rubicon rock rails and shocks, heavy-duty brakes, and 32-inch Firestone mud terrain tires. These complement Jeep’s Command-Trac 4x4 part-time, two-speed transfer case with a low-range gear ratio.

The Wrangler Willys will be available in a wide variety of colors, namely: Black, Granite Crystal, Sting Gray, Billet, Ocean Blue, Firecracker Red, Punk’n, Hellayella, Mojito, and White.

Meanwhile, the Black & Tan, as the name suggests, features a two-tone color scheme. What the name doesn’t imply is that all exterior colors—not just black—will be available, and will then sit in contrast to the premium tan soft top. Inside, this model features an instrument panel mid-bolster painted with Wizard Black, as well as seats covered with Heritage Tan cloth. A seven-inch Uconnect radio, a seven-inch driver’s display screen, and dual-zone climate control come as a standard.

Both the Willys and Black & Tan models are available in either a two-door or four-door configuration. As far as other specs go, these special-edition Wranglers offer the same things as the regular model. Engine options include a 3.6-liter V6 and a 2.0-liter turbocharged in-line-four, both with either start/stop or mild-hybrid e-Torque technology. These engines come mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic.

If these were made available in our market, would you want to grab one for yourself?
