Mazda has announced that it will be unveiling a new-generation SUV at the upcoming Geneva International Motor Show.

The Japanese car manufacturer hasn’t provided much information regarding the brand-new addition to its lineup, save for confirmation that it will come available with the company’s revolutionary SkyActiv-X powertrain and will continue to carry Mazda's Kodo design language.

The company released a single teaser photo, too. It’s not much—just the usual car draped in shadows—but it’s enough to tell us that the vehicle is a crossover or SUV. As to how big it’ll be, we’re not entirely sure. Since the current CX-5 and CX-9 are barely a couple of years old and still not due for a model change, though, it’s safe to say it isn’t either of those two.

Could it be the next-generation CX-3? You know, since it’s the oldest of Mazda’s crossovers. The proportions shown in the teaser also hint that it’ll be something relatively compact in size. Or could it be something else entirely—perhaps an all-new nameplate?

Of course, all this is speculation at this point. We’ll find out more once the vehicle is revealed in full in March 2019. Excited?
