After months of speculation, something official has finally come out of Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) regarding the all-new Vios subcompact sedan.
Below you'll find the official prices, specs and variants of soon to be locally-available Vios units, provided to us by TMP. As you can see, it will be available in six variants: The top-of-the-line 1.5 G Prime, 1.5 G, mid-end 1.3 E Prime, 1.3 E, 1.3 J and the lower-tier 1.3 Base.

You've probably noticed that the engine options remain the same, too--four-cylinder dual VVT-i gasoline mills either in 1.5-liter or 1.3-liter displacements, capable of 106hp/140Nm and 98hp/123Nm, respectively. The Prime variant will come with a CVT, the G and E variants with either a CVT or five-speed manual transmission, and the J and base variants with only the five-speed manual.
Higher-end units come equipped with niceties like a push-to-start button, leather seats, automatic A/C, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 16-inch alloys, while all variants come with driver/passenger airbags as well as side, curtain and knee airbags (driver only) as standard. Not surprising, especially since the all-new Vios received an impressive five-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating during crash tests last year.
The all-new Vios will compete with class staples like the Honda City, as well as with newcomers like the Volkswagen Santana. Will the Vios maintain its dominance over the subcompact sedan segment?
